A 16-year-old from Sudan who disappeared at sea has been found dead on a French beach. French politicians believe the boy, whose body was found in Calais, went missing while attempting to cross the English Channel in a small boat. A search operation began after another migrant was found with hypothermia on the
shore at about 02:00. He told authorities that his friend, who could not swim, was missing after their makeshift boat capsized.
Channel crossings: Body of teenage migrant found on French beach - BBC News

Although Britain takes a much smaller number of asylum seekers than some other European Union countries, the British Home Secretary, Priti Patel, blamed the death of this boy on people smugglers but there were no such gangsters in this incident. Two refugees had stolen a flimsy inflatable dinghy which was not up to the English Channel crossing. There is a better way to process asylum seekers, especially unaccompanied minors. They should be able to apply for asylum while still in France if they want to go to Britain. This would avoid the risk of a perilous channel crossing.

Or they could stay in France. If they are seeking Asylum, Paris is as "Not Sudan" and London.

Some of these asylum seekers wish to go to England because they have family there and have no connection to France.

Or they could apply for asylum in France or any of the other nations that they illegally entered...

Then they should have applied for asylum instead of this.

It is utter racist nonsense to label asylum seekers as having illegally entered a country. International law gives a right to refugees to enter a country with or without permission because the permission to stay depends on their status as an asylum seeker which can only be determined when their application is processed.

The English do not allow refugees to apply for asylum unless they have already landed in England. I agree with you that refugees should be able to apply for asylum in any country where they wish to go for some reason but the system is broken and Mediterranean member states of the European Union are overburdened while others are not taking in a fair share.

London is better than Paris because a child who makes it to England is placed with a foster family. The French keep them together in tents and they can be found roaming the streets of Calais.

Well England isn't really a member of the EU these days for all intents and purposes.

A 16 year old boy, or a 28 year old man?

Some dude in the Sudan is bored to death and broke, but not under and physical danger, so he declares himself a refugee for opportunity's sake and gets a free ride as a opportunist on backs of the tax payers of foreign countries.

Who are you to determine what is a fair share?

Writing what you did makes you sound quite cynical and mocking as a reaction to what all sources say was a tragedy.

A schoolboy called by you "some dude" escaped from a lethal country for the chance of a better life. Thankfully, you do not get to decide the status of refugees.
"Between 1989 and 2019, Sudan experienced a 30-year-long military dictatorship led by Omar al-Bashir accused of widespread human rights abuses including torture, persecution of minorities and notably, ethnic genocide due to its role in the War in the Darfur region that broke out in 2003."

Then maybe the solution is to fix up Sudan instead of blaming the UK.

the absolute majority of asylum seekers from A-stan are lying about their age , Sweden swallows it, this is a fact, thats why Sweden much like Germany became the N1 destination for A. men

Yes, it is a tragedy, although one that was most certainly avoidable - wouldn't you agree?

Also, I would hardly call asking you a straight forward honest question cynical or mocking. So now you know my intentions, perhaps answer the question.
