All signs point to a blood bath in the November elections for the Democrats....They could lose up to 100 seats in the House and up to 12 or 13 in the senate...Seats in the Senate like in Wisconsin (Feingold) California (Boxer) and Washington (Murray) bastions for the Democrats for many years are in play..........It is obvious that America is rejecting the Obama agenda of socialism....Hopefully Conservatives and Tea Party candidates can reverse the damage that the Obama agenda has heaped on this country for the last 4 years..........

How sweet it is......................

Once again you retain your crown as the most overly optimistic Republican in the country. You'll be lucky if the numbers are even 1/2 of what you hope for.

Then again....you thought that Fred Thompson was going to easily cruise to the Presidency in 2008.....LOL......

which tea party candidates do you consider to be qualified and able? what changes will they bring about?

I refuse to get optimistic. the stupidity of the american public never ceases to amaze me.

There will be gains for the GOP for sure, but if the economy had not been in the terrible shape it is for 2 + years would the opposition to the Health Care Turkey be even as substantial as it was. Odds are it would have passed a bit easier. The public is fickle and many have amnesia.
the TP people (most are sincere) are in a lot of cases not seeing the really Big picture and are assuming that Real success in 2010 means a 2012 Slam Dunk. No way this is true.

I don't know why people think that a flip to a GOP majority is going to bring major benefits for America. It's just going to bring more reckless government behaviour. It has been abundantly obvious for a while that U.S. governance is just about a pendulum swinging back and forth. One party seizes power, and the other party becomes the group of saviours; then they switch places in the next election.

Neither party has shown that it has what it takes to rescue America from financial oblivion at this point. The GOP is no longer dominated by classical conservatives... there are a lot of big spenders on the ticket. So, I don't see how things can change.

If I was American, I would feel pretty disillusioned right about now.

that about sums it up. the problem is, the kind of people that should be running for political office, have no desire to put up with the bull**** involved in the process. So all we get is the same old recycled crap election after election.

Did you intend to pose this question to me? Not sure exactly why....but here goes: None that I am personally familiar with. Could there be some out there? Probably, but I'm not aware of who they are.

As evidenced by some of these folks even being in the race. Sadly funny as some of them are.

This is something I have commented on more than once, usually when something about a politician's personal life gets dragged through the mud. To use an odd(for me) example...all the hubbub over O'Donnell having "dabbled" in witchcraft when she was young. Every one has done something stupid when they where young, and to run for public office means that it is very possible it will be used publicly. Who wants to put their family through that, except those who are incredibly hungry for power?

We weed out all those good people who just want to serve, and have nothing left but people who want nothing but power, and then we get bitter and cynical, not seeing that the problem is as much our doing as any one elses.

You will be crying in your beer on 4 November DD...The American people will reject your socialist agenda...........

If this was a football game, you might have a point. And I might laugh with you over that beer saying my team will get you next time. But, no one wins if we don't field viable and more importantly, competent candidates. You should be just as unhappy with someo of the tea party type nutters who are in the running as you are with democrat candidates. From republican view points, some places may be a no win situation. Deleware being such an example. And that may be the case for a lot of people. We shouldn't be too happy about that.

I did not hear you crying about the terrible candidates that were elected in 2006 and 2008 like that clown from Minnesota whose claim to fame was Saturday Night Live and a Failed Air America...........Just remember my left wing friend there is and old saying, "What goes around comes around."

Then you weren't listening. Let me repeat a few things you may also have missed:

Al Franken was not a good choice for Minnesota.

We're better served if both parties have enough strength to police the other, and not served well if one party wins it all.

There is not enough difference between the two parties, and we'd be better served if there were more stark differences. Where there is more thanone answer, and you're seeking the best answer, you need more voices and not less.

Idiots don't serve any of us well.

I am. The GOP has no real plan. People don't quite understand that drastic cuts will result in increased unemployment from direct cuts and more job losses from declines in personal spending. On the level of the GOP preaches about cutting, that's going to spike unemployment rather high, spooking businesses even more. And for some reason, they think cutting taxes will fix a leverage/financial crisis. Total epic failure to study history entirely.

But more likely, the GOP is going to realize that they'll be hurting their own voters. It's all fun and games until you start cutting jobs in my state. Thus, I suspect the GOP really won't do anything drastic and will keep spending. We all know that the GOP doesn't want another recession on its hands. And unless the Tea Party candidates publicly state they are only going to serve one term, they'll fall in line like the rest. There is one difference between the GOP and the Dems. The GOP pretends its beliefs are different.

The GOP refuses to cut Social Security, Medicare and the Military. There is no way we can get the budget under control without touching those three. This "pledge" is a sick joke in fuzzy math.

You will be crying in your beer on 4 November DD...The American people will reject your socialist agenda...........

Just like they rejected Bush's Socialist Drug bill? A bill you ardently defended?

What is more amusing is come January, you'll realize the GOP is just as incompetent and without tools as the Democrats are.

Probably as good as your prediction that Fred Thompson was going to leave everyone else in the dust?

I could care less about the dems or the Republicans I just want Conservatives elected and to your sorrow my left wing friend there will be a bunch of them elected in November...........

you socialists can eat your hearts out....Your going down hard...........After January all you socialist plans will be history.........

There are only a couple actual socialists who post here Navy, and neither of them is likely to read your post. Your problem is you define socialist as some one further left than you, which is almost everyone.

Well Obama and his administration are socialists and the people that voted for him must believe in his agenda...........I know its hard Redress because he fooled you people on the left especially independents.....That is why Independents will be voting for Conservative candidates next month....You people on the left drank the koolaide......

There are people in this forum who are socialists and don't even know it just like there are people in this forum who are about as left as you can get and they identify themselves as Moderates but their posts give them away.........

I think you're proving his point. Congrats.

If you're a rich Republican who cares nothing about the people, only the super rich businesses, you can claim victory, if not, you're cutting off your own nose.
