Amid a coronavirus outbreak that has hit Washington state particularly hard, the chief of the Seattle police department on Monday urged residents to contact law enforcement to report “racist name calling.” During a “chief’s brief” video segment, Police Chief Carmen Best and local journalist Lori Matsukawa issued a public service announcement about hate crimes in the age of coronavirus.
Three 911 calls to police demonstrated that Seattle Police are not pursuing traditional crimes. In Seattle, a police officer responded to a request from dispatch to intervene in a burglary in progress–someone actively stealing from a citizen-
The officer was forced to reply that they could not respond “we have no resources.”
In Burien, someone from Medic 1 reported an assault in progress. Someone was getting beaten up. The dispatcher wasn’t certain if, or when, the police would get there.
Lastly, over the weekend, Seattle DOT wanted to close Seattle’s expensive, new tunnel. But, instead of doing it on their own, they demanded the Seattle Police Department handle it.

If a white racist gets elected police chief it is likely the racist's racist views will affect his or her department policies. The same is true about black racists or people who hate others on the basis of sex, religion, politics or something else. Ingrained hatred and bias is hard to educate out of people.

Report hate crimes? Did she include hate crimes against whites? Against cops? Against Muslims? Against Christians? Against Jews? Against homosexuals? Against straights? Against democrats? Against republicans? Against parents? How much hatred can she put an end to by sending the police to deal with it?

Me either. In fact I have never heard of a white or black supremacist being elected police chief before but there are quite probably a hundred thousand police chiefs I have never heard of.
You can't put an end to hatred. But you can punish the perpetrators of crimes.
Not all crimes will be punished. Look at all the hate crimes committed against Trump which Trump has graciously chosen not to prosecute.
Yup, it is crazy here. Buildings are being tagged in downtown and the police refuse to do anything about this. They are a bunch of COWARDS!

Trump doesn't get to decide to prosecute people. He's not a member of the judicial branch at all.
I have heard of Louis Farrakhan, Maxine Waters, Stacie Abrams, Barack Obama and other black nationalist Nation of Islam racism supporters, but I don't know how many black racists have been elected police chiefs.
