There were rumors going around this guy was Candace Owens' brother. He's not, but the level of stupidity he exhibits really makes you wonder if they really are related.

Ill take the word of the African American PhD over the two Retards in your video :

The dude has a popular YouTube channel. How could he be wrong?

Conservatives are desperate to have ANY minority on their team. I would love to see Vaush obliterate him in a debate on race.

"Our position is thoroughly identified with the institution of slavery-- the greatest material interest of the world. Its labor supplies the product which constitutes by far the largest and most important portions of commerce of the earth. These products are peculiar to the climate verging on the tropical regions, and by an imperious law of nature, none but the black race can bear exposure to the tropical sun. These products have become necessities of the world, and a blow at slavery is a blow at commerce and civilization. That blow has been long aimed at the institution, and was at the point of reaching its consummation. There was no choice left us but submission to the mandates of abolition, or a dissolution of the Union, whose principles had been subverted to work out our ruin. That we do not overstate the dangers to our institution, a reference to a few facts will sufficiently prove."

Race had everything to do with slavery in the United States. Slavery had everything to do with the cause of the Confederacy. The Confederacy was one of the most evil and vile regimes in the history of civilization. It is nothing more than historical revisionism to deny that or to try to divorce slavery in the United States from racism.

As to Thomas Sowell holding a PhD and thus must be right, Karl Marx was an educated man, does that mean he was right about everything?

Vaush tends to be good at tearing down bottom of the barrel failsons and daughters who made it to the top because surprise surprise the currency in the marketplace of ideas is attention (beating nazis at their own internet bloodsports and idiot e-celebs) but for stuff above that, ehhh…..

Well slivery wasn't about race. There were black slave owners there were white slaves.

CRT has infected you with its bologna.

This is why people are against it.

The industry of slaves exported from Africa was started by the Ottoman Empire a century before Christopher Columbus. It wasn't even those Muslims who started Black African slavery. For centuries before even that, around 60% to 70% of Black Sub-Saharan Africans had the other 30% to 40% enslaved. Whether it was for POW's or criminals, death or enslavement was only two punishments that couture employed. The Muslim Slave traders stumbled across an oversupply glut of super cheap slaves. Later Europeans started buying from the Muslims and then even later, from the African Kingdoms. One thing that almost never happened was a Black African enslaved for the specific purpose of suppling the overseas slave trade, there were always to many available.

Black Africans were not enslaved for their skin color, they were already slaves of other Blacks. Foreigners bought them because they were cheap and available not because they were black.

If you are referring to the 100% Democrat party , Jim Crow and Segregation policies, we have no arguments.

The two arguments that caused the Civil War were: State’s Rights and Slavery.

Regarding “States Rights” the war was North v. South.

Regarding “Slavery” it was Republicans v. Democrats.

Yes, Democrats were and still are over the top racists, but even that was not the first reason why they wanted to keep their slaves.

Basically anyone who professionally debates :p and does research at the academy level.

Vaush holds his own. When it comes to debating he's up there with the Sam Harrises of the world. In fact, I think he's a step above Harris. Don't let the 'quality' of opponents or format fool you. ;)

You're trying to move the goal posts. The guy said slavery was 'never about race.' That is a blatant lie. While race didn't always play a role when it came to the slave trade, it absolutely became a factor to justify the slave trade.

Sorta.. I think he is good for the niche he fills, but not the greatest thing since sliced bread.

That's how Fox has to sell it.

Trumpers already said slavery was good for "the blacks".

That is all a bunch of strawmen and nonsense. Blacks were enslaved in the United States because they were considered less than human. As to States Rights, the state rights in question was the states rights to chattel slavery. For example, lets say that Alabama wanted legalized pedophilia, they then secede to protect their state rights to legalized pedophilia, a civil war results. Your argument is like saying that Alabama seceded due to states rights, not because they wanted legalized pedophilia. The Confederacy was established to protect the legal right of slavery in the Confederacy. That is literally the reason given in their articles of secession.

Do you have a source for this? There weren't any white slaves in North America unless you count voluntary and temporary indentured servitude, which is NOT slavery. And the fact that there were black slave owners doesn't prove that slavery wasn't about race. It only proves that not all black people in American history were always slaves.

Only black people, (and in a few extremely rare cases some native Americans,) were ever considered chattel in America: That is, their slavery was permanent and hereditary. It was their ethnicity that made them slaves in America: They were black Africans and therefore inferior to white Europeans. In other words: Old fashioned American racism.

The kid in the video has no idea what he is talking about.

And yet it was never legal to own a white slave in America. Slaves HAD to be black Africans. It was even illegal to enslave Native Americans almost everywhere.

They were enslaved because black Africans were viewed as inferior to white Europeans and all other races. This is racism. Full stop.

Racism came from slavery not the other way around.

You must really be focused on race in this country if you wrote "The Confederacy was one of the most evil and vile regimes in the history of civilization."
Perhaps you never heard of Hitler killing millions of Jews, or Stalin starving millions of Ukrainians, or Mao TseTung killing tens of millions of his own people.
The Confederacy didn't know it was evil. It just wanted to preserve slavery so the elite could perpetuate its oppressive society.
In this country, slavery and racism went hand in hand.

So your argument is that slavery wasn't so bad because it wasn't millions of Jews or Ukranians or Chinese being killed. That is a brilliant argument! Congratulations. Good to know the Confederacy was just a bunch of good guys helping out the elite.
