Trump’s supporters will disingenuously claim that the lower unemployment rate has benefited black Americans especially or uniquely, but that is nothing more than a baseless talking point, the black unemployment rate is where it has always been, twice as high as it is for white Americans. This talking point isn’t intended to change the minds of blacks, who by and large loathe Trump, but as a lifeline for suburban whites who benefit from white privilege but do not consider themselves racist or even advantaged by the color of their skin.
