Bill O'Reilly threatened a caller

Stinger said:
Depends on who you're comparing his ratings to, how does he do against Oprah or Dr. Phil who he competes against? He doesn't compete against OReilly on TV and he's totally failing on radio.

Okay. And what is your point? Pat Robertson has a huge fan base. Does that mean something?

You do this to me all the time, cnredd..all the time. I am a 38-year-old woman and your constant critiquing the way I post isn't going to change the way I post. I like to be controversial sometimes. What's the big deal? YOu are always, as I have said consistently, free to ignore me if my posting bugs you so much.
The reason you are saying this is because I mentioned to another poster how the phrase that you wrote...

...and the person wasn't threatening him...

...is totally unsubstantiated...

There is a delay with content that was not heard over the air, so you can't make that claim...

Isn't that the whole point of debate?...The whole reason for this website?...

When someone makes a claim, the first thing to do is see if the facts are correct...If they're not, then the whole debate is useless...

Saying "How dare someone point out my fallicies!" goes directly against legitimate debate...

What makes anyone think they are immune to criticism is beyond me...

Yeah, let's make this about something other than your constant attacks on me, cnredd. Yawn.

So now whenever you post something that is not fact, I can't point it out because you'll consider it "personal"...

Way to stifle debate...:(

Only seconded by Al-Qaeda, Iran has been behind the most terrorist attacks which resulted in the most dead Americans than any other organization in the world. India, Pakistan, and Israel aren't threatening to wipe eachother off of the map, Iran on the other hand is. And the reason why you don't see the difference is because you're ignorant of the subject.

Trajan. Sorry, don't know you well enough.

Where's your proof in this statement?

At the DOS:

Iran
Despite the victory for moderates in Iran's Majles elections in February, aggressive countermeasures by hardline conservatives have blocked most reform efforts. Iran remained the most active state sponsor of terrorism in 2000. Its Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and Ministry of Intelligence and Security (MOIS) continued to be involved in the planning and the execution of terrorist acts and continued to support a variety of groups that use terrorism to pursue their goals.
http://debatepolitics.com/Iran's involvement in terrorist-related activities remained focused on support for groups opposed to Israel and peace between Israel and its neighbors. Statements by Iran's leaders demonstrated Iran's unrelenting hostility to Israel. Supreme Leader Khamenei continued to refer to Israel as a "cancerous tumor" that must be removed; President Khatami, labeling Israel an "illegal entity," called for sanctions against Israel during the intifadah; and Expediency Council Secretary Rezai said, "Iran will continue its campaign against Zionism until Israel is completely eradicated." Iran has long provided Lebanese Hizballah and the Palestinian rejectionist groups--notably HAMAS, the Palestine Islamic Jihad, and Ahmad Jibril's PFLP-GC--with varying amounts of funding, safehaven, training, and weapons. This activity continued at its already high levels following the Israeli withdrawal from southern Lebanon in May and during the intifadah in the fall. Iran continued to encourage Hizballah and the Palestinian groups to coordinate their planning and to escalate their activities against Israel. Iran also provided a lower level of support--including funding, training, and logistics assistance--to extremist groups in the Gulf, Africa, Turkey, and Central Asia.

http://debatepolitics.com/Although the Iranian Government has taken no direct action to date to implement Ayatollah Khomeini's fatwa against Salman Rushdie, the decree has not been revoked, and the $2.8 million bounty for his assassination has not been withdrawn. Moreover, hardline Iranians continued to stress that the decree is irrevocable. On the anniversary of the fatwa in February, the IRGC released a statement that the decree remains in force, and Ayatollah Yazdi, a member of the Council of Guardians, reiterated that "the decree is irrevocable and, God willing, will be carried out."
http://debatepolitics.com/Iran also was a victim of Mujahedin-e-Khalq (MEK)-sponsored terrorism. The Islamic Republic presented a letter to the UN Secretary General in October citing seven acts of sabotage by the MEK against Iran between January and August 2000. The United States has designated the MEK as a Foreign Terrorist Organization.

Huh? I adore Olbermann, but I don't find him remotely sexually appealing. So tell me why are your facts more true than mine?

I'm not getting you, Deegan. This blog is hilarious. I love the person whose name is "FOX SECURITY."

Tell me what I am wrong about?

I would agree that O'Reilly is an extremist and very pompous. However, it is obvious that we cannot hear what was deleted by the delay. If it was a threat, then he has every right to have the caller investigated.

Wow, KC, I love your post. I agree. If the guy threatened O'Reilly, then he should be investigated. I had someone thrown out of a baseball game because I asked him to stop kicking the back of my seat and he told me he was going to kick my a$$. Boy did I love seeing security come get him and escort him off the premises.

'Olbermann' banned from 'The O'Reilly Factor'

A caller got through to O'Reilly's radio show Thursday and insists he used no foul language, that all he did was mention Olbermann’s name, compliment ‘Countdown’, and asked, Why are you always smearing him, Bill? And the host, using the dump button all talk radio shows have on the seven-second delay, cut him off.

If this is true, bwahahaahhahahahhahah :lamo

Olbermann is doing the same thing O'Reilly did several years ago. The whole thing is about ratings. O'Reilly should worry because he has been on a long time and a lot of his stuff is getting old. Viewers are looking around for something new and Olbermann thinks he's got it to offer. His viewing public IS increasing. I stopped watching O'Reilly and started watching Olbermenn about a year and a half ago but now I am gettings tired of him. The Disney channel and the Cartoon Network are more sophisticated than any of the cable news media monkeys.

Having someone call in and defend Obermann and what he says and does is good fodder for the show, why would he cut them off? On the otherhand if he used foul language hoping to get it broadcast or made some other smear he deserved to be cut off. OReilly had to do it to a guy today and it was clear he is using a delay.

Don't spoil aps's party. She really wants this to be a story. Afterall, it's been two weeks since the Cheney hunting accident.

Trajan.

Thanks for the source. HOwever, I think quoting this administration and any of its departments when it has made it clear they want to invade Iran and change it's government could be in questionable taste and authenticity as to fact. Look at the reams of pages we have from this administration and the lies they told about Iraq.

I did find this on the BBC web pages.

HTML:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/americas/4722498.stm

It reports what Rice is saying and then adds the French believe it is a ruse, Iran not trying for bombs.

Thanks again.

I don't compare Oreilly's ratings with the Superbowl either. Comparing Springers TV ratings, which may or may not be good, to Orielly's radio show or TV show is folly, apples and oranges. If you are comparing Springer's radio show where he DOES try to somewhat engage in poitical talk, the whole Air America show network is tanking and comes nowhere near what Oreilly does. But Oreilly has a hugh audience on both

LOL KC, you have me all figured out. I was wondering where you had been.

Seriously, the news has been rather boring lately, which is good. Then I am not so glued to the TV (watching Chris Matthews) when I get home. I can relax tonight and watch to see who gets fired tonight from The Apprentice.

Where? No where in the article you cite does it say anything close.

and change it's government

Which has been the policy of the United States for decades.

Look at the reams of pages we have from this administration and the lies they told about Iraq.

There were no lies, every reason we went to war has been verified, the only thing where we were wrong, which is far different from lieing, is the amount of WMD materials Saddam MAY have had. We have very good evidence he moved materials out, but that he wanted them, was working on them and even poccessed proscribed materials in not in doubt.

I did find this on the BBC web pages.

And she is absolutely correct in everything she said.

Yes the French believe they are extremely dangerous too, just as Rice stated.

"On Thursday, for the first time, France openly branded Iran's nuclear programme as a clandestine military project."

Who" Oreilly? Sometimes. Springer, his TV show No, his radio show very little his talk is meandering cliche'd and pointless, mostly baseless tired old assertions. Air American could certainly have found someone better than him to host the morning show.

Yeah, I was talking about O'Reilly. What's funny, Stinger, is that I didn't even know that Springer had a radio show. His TV show is just pure trash. The last time I saw a portion of it, this midget was running around without his shirt on stage wanting to fight some guy whose woman he wanted (the woman was a total bimbo). Is anyone buying that crap?
