"Real Time" host Bill Maher revealed details Friday of his meeting last week with President Donald Trump at the White House, saying Trump was more gracious and good-humored than he expected.

"You can hate me for it, but I'm not a liar. Trump was gracious and measured," Maher said. "And why isn't that in other settings- I don't know, and I can't answer, and it's not my place to answer. I'm just telling you what I saw, and I wasn't high."

Maher mocked those who treated the White House visit like it was "some kind of summit" brokered by their mutual friend Kid Rock, calling them "ridiculous."

"I have no power. I'm a f---ing comedian, and he's the most powerful leader in the world!" Maher exclaimed. "I'm not the leader of anything, except maybe a contingent of centrist-minded people who think there's got to be a better way of running this country than hating each other every minute."

Maher shared a printout of the insults Trump had leveled at him over the years, which Trump signed with "good humor."

"And I know as I say that, millions of liberal sphincters just tightened. ‘Oh, my God, Bill, you gonna say something nice about him?’ What I'm gonna do is report exactly what happened," Maher said, adding he "didn't go MAGA. And to the president's credit, there was no pressure to."

Why would this upset us? I had no doubts Trump was capable of being "gracious" and "good humored". He's even been gracious and good humored on camera before.

And for what its worth, a lot of liberals aren't fond of Maher.

The only time I ever hear about Bill Mahar is when he says something stupid and some maga person wants to try and use that as a rhetorical weapon.

He's a great con man. How often have you heard the exact same thing from many different people, what a guy, nothing like you see on tv? AND, if that's true, who are trump's friends? Does he have any real friends? So, I'm supposed to believe this really nice guy in real life is just acting like a wannabe' dictator for...reasons completely against the character many people say he is in real life. Being president and causing people to suffer is real ****ing life. He's a great con man people, he will lie to your face with a smile on his. When will this get through to people?

Personally, I could care less about what a political leader is like in private; it’s what you do in public (statements, policies, etc.) that matters.

Bill Maher dislikes what his fellow democrats have become, and has no problem telling the world how evil the democrats have become.

OMG.

I dislike how Bill was in the past with his leftist ideals, but the left has left him behind going too far. He criticizes all politicians.

I have never heard anyone call him a coward before. You have no clue. He speaks his mind, always has, always will.
