Not that this article convinces most members in DP that evidence is building against DJT, because many here already believed that this is the case, but it adds to the fact that Bill Barr keeps tip toeing to the right side of history by letting the public know that he rejected any notion that there was election fraud 2020 while hinting that DJT caused 1/6/21 to take place.

Speaking to CBS News, Barr gave his assessment on the latest reported developments of the Justice Department's probe, and said recent grand jury subpoenas for high-ranking Trump administration officials are "significant."

"This suggests to me that they're taking a hard look at the group at the top, including the president and the people immediately around him who were involved in this," the legal expert said.

Barr went on to say that he thinks the "evidence definitely has been building" against Trump. However, the former attorney general said that what he's seen from the House select committee investigating the January 6 attack in its publicly televised hearings has not yet convinced that there is enough to prove beyond a reasonable shadow of a doubt that the former president committed a crime. He went on to say that the Justice Department continues to probe the events of January 6.

I suspect what Barr says is true. The evidence is building.

imo, it does not help Trump to continue to spout the election was stolen from him. I have little doubt that Trump action on 1/6 by holding the rally where he did was a major factor in what transpired. Hopefully soon he will no longer be Teflon Don.:giggle:

One thing that no one on the right can ever say is that the Department of Justice rushed into indictments.

And you know they would have said it had the DOJ not been thorough.

Didn’t Barr state that he wasn’t concerned about his reputation?

Bill Barr sure is enjoying backstabbing his former boss. Has he come out with his NYT best selling tell all book yet?

You bolded the wrong thing. I fixed it for you.

Time will tell.

Maybe there is evidence that is not put out in the hearings to the public.

The standard does not mention shadows of doubt. Just beyond a reasonable doubt.

My bolded words still applies to the tread title. Your bolded words applies to the 1/6 Committee's hearings, in which their investigation has yet to reach a shadow of doubt that DJT committed a crime for some. However, if a court trial had started over a year ago, willing witnesses along with those subpoenaed would have taken the stand. That leads me to believe that solid evidence would have been well established against DJT and his white collar operatives, despite very important text/phone messages and documents removed/destroyed. imo

There's a small chance that the DOJ may still pull this off. In the words of the previous AG Bill Barr - "evidence definitely has been building" against Trump.

Didn’t Barr state that he wasn’t concerned about his reputation?
Probably, but seems like others have echoed that sentiment too. It's obvious that he's concerned about something hiding in his closet - being that he connected himself to DJT darn near at the hip. Stuff like a monster that comes out at night to devour his legacy. Barr has a lot of convincing on his plate to shed the stench of DJT. He's started with the biggest glob of stench - false claim of 2020 election fraud and just lately, the 1/6 Capitol assault summoned by his ex-boss.

If the Queen Pelosi Communist Tribunal had any, they would talk about it 24/7.
An investigative committee who defends a Democracy doesn't come off as being Communist.

Bill Barr was a dangerous man in his own right. As a DoJ official at various times, he pushed the rule of law to the edge of decency perhaps far more than any DoJ guy since John Mitchell. In Donald Trump, however, Barr found a man with zero respect of the rule of law. Although Barr's scruples seemed quite flexible, in Trump he found a man completely devoid of scruples.

No, Barr did not backstab Trump. Trump backstabbed America, which was a bridge to far even for a man like Barr.

All things wrong with Trump, he did to himself. The constant effort to blame everyone around the leader as wrong because they were not "loyal" to the leader is a characteristic of a cult member. Most people people not in the cult see the common denominator as the leader, while cult members can find fault with the leader so they blame everyone else.

Oh they will say this was all political in the end. Trump is already selling that line.
