Story here UPDATE 1-London's Big Ben to be renamed Elizabeth Tower | Reuters

The reason I post it is because I immediately thought "Was that so that they could save time by calling all of their big useless relics from a past era of greatness that have become iconic by simple virtue of being there for a really long time by the same name?"

Strictly speaking, "Big Ben" is the name of the chiming bell in the clock. The tower is officially "The Clock Tower", which is frankly boring.

wait, so that means Big Ben will be throbbing in Elizabeth!?!?!?

Does Philip know?
