No, the increase in revenue the following year should have reduced the deficit and thus the debt. It’s the spending.
Not a single one of the Republican huge tax cuts for the wealthy elite ever grew the economy in any significant manner. Their main outcome in all cases was to grow the deficit and debt instead. AND to increase wealth inequality on this nation. Not a single one of them was “needed”. They were just corrupt gifts to the wealthy Repub donors.
