Biden versus Stalin

And where are we today? Putin is stymied and starting to bleed from the orifices. He's had to go hat in hand to China for money. Any day now Ukrainians will start to bring it to him, attack his pipelines and government and military facilities in the Motherland. That'll ratchet up the pressure on Putin at home.
This fiasco couldn't have gone much worse for him no matter what the US did or didn't do.
Where are we at today? Millions of Ukraine refugees, thousands dead, decimated cities and on the edge of WW3.

In the span of a month Biden's reduced Putin to a pathetic figure, the tinpot dictator of a bumbling third-rate military and a shattered economy, now cowering in fear of his own people. He's playacting as Stalin because he's a cornered rat and almost everyone on earth sees it.

Astonishing (but unsurprising) that the right sees Putin's unraveling as strength and Biden's outmaneuvering of Putin at every turn as "incompetence."
What in Ukraine gives you this impression? Is is the mounting toll of dead Ukranian citizens and bombed out cities?

Well that's another good reason why the republicans should not have run someone as crooked and dishonest as trump. That is the reason biden is in office.
LMAO, this is the funniest "I hate Trump" rationalization yet. It's Trumps fault Democrats voted for Biden, LMAO

LETS GO BRANDON!

I’ve been very clear about what Biden should have done and should do now that we are in this position because he didn’t do what should have been done. And yes you cower in fear when you make decisions on limiting help to Ukraine based on fear of him going nuke.
You truly have no idea of what real life is. That is all I can say. Debating the issue is useless if you haven't already understood what I have said.

I wish you luck in your life. With your kind of reasoning, you will need luck.

Where are we at today? Millions of Ukraine refugees, thousands dead, decimated cities and on the edge of WW3.
Yeah, and what should Biden have done to prevent those deaths after Russia invaded? Do you advocate the the US confront Russia militarily? WW3 sounds good to you?

Ukraine Is on the verge of defeating Putin's plans. Putin is desperate enough to look to China, his biggest regional opponent, for some financial slack. Biden has been back-scenes organizing the sanctions against Russia and has had a long conversation with Xi on the subject. You watch, this is the beginning of the end for Putin. By your next Presidential election he'll be a shell of what he is today, if he survives. He may think he doesn't need support at home, that he's all-powerful but he'll learn different.
And Biden will get the credit whether he deserves it or not. Sucks, huh.

I don't understand why some see Biden as weak because he didn't jump into war with Russia. He is using diplomacy and non violent means to attempt to avoid WW3 and, imo, think that takes intellect, skill, and bravery. Bombing countries into rubble should not be the first step toward ending conflict.

The right was nationalist, America first, we don't want to be the world police, yadda yadda during the *Rump years but quickly turned to saber rattling upon Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

Putin is turning into Stalin 2.0 and America has an incompetent, indecisive, feckless bumbling old fool career politician as president. I truly hope we survive this perilous period of history and don't end up in WW3 because of our weakness. We are up against a very dangerous man.

"In a speech Thursday, he peppered his remarks with "Stalin-esque" dog whistling and warnings of a "fifth column" of Russian "scum and traitors" working to undermine his ambitions from within, according to a translation of his remarks"

"He called for a "self-purification" to rid Russia of internal war critics"

"The Russian people will always be able to differentiate true patriots from scum and traitors and will simply spit them out like an insect that accidentally flew in and got trapped in your mouth," he continued. "I am confident that a necessary self-cleansing of society will only strengthen our country, our solidarity and readiness to respond to any challenges."
Nice

"Putin is calling on the Russian people to root out and expose the traitors and bring them to the attention of government authorities,"

Nice tirade of complaints. What your post lacked was an statement about what should be done that hasn't been. On one hand you are telling us you don't want us to get into WWIII, on the other hand you are suggesting we are not confronting Russia enough. So, if you are going to complain than tell us what the US should be doing that it is not.

Even Bill Maher couldn't help but notice Putin didn't invade Ukraine until Biden was President.
That is hardly "couldn't help but notice" as it is a matter of fact. The question is really "why did Putin not attack under Trump's watch". The obvious answer is that he did not need to as Trump was doing all of his dirty work for him; undermining NATO.

Now Trump is gone and Biden has been working hard to shore up the damage. Meanwhile Ukraine has continued to move away from Russia politically. Putin decided this is the time that NATO was the weakest and Ukraine was not that far gone. Thanks to Biden, Putin decided wrong as to the first issue and decided wrong as to the seond.

Meh, better than Trump. He would have supported Putin's attempt to take Ukraine.

Ukraine never would have been invaded. If Biden had negotiated from a position of power instead of a position of weakness. He should have been flooding Ukraine with Stingers and SAMs as he negotiated and made it clear to Putin we had Ukraine's back instead of saying we'd do nothing about a minor incursion. Putin sensed weakness and like a pack of wolves culling out a weak old bull elk from the herd he attacked.

We have no treaty to defend Ukraine

We should live up to our treaty obligations

Thank you for your parrot like verbatim recital of democrat talking points.

Putin is turning into Stalin 2.0
You ruin your credibility when you start with something obviously wrong like this. Get some perspective.

America has an incompetent, indecisive, feckless bumbling old fool career politician as president.
This is unfortunately true.

I truly hope we survive this perilous period of history and don't end up in WW3 because of our weakness. We are up against a very dangerous man.
True, but not to the degree you seem to believe. He is not a reckless man. Quite the opposite.

Consider the source.

Do some research on Stalin. It's unfortunate you dont see the emerging similarities between him and Putin.

Lol, Biden is in office through "election interference", period.

Keep telling yourself that.

Meanwhile everyone who actual cares about things like facts and honesty will be laughing at you.

What in Ukraine gives you this impression? Is is the mounting toll of dead Ukranian citizens and bombed out cities?
Yes. It’s hard to even imagine a more weak, desperate measure than bombing maternity hospitals.

This won't end well for Putin. Might be his downfall, might just set him back and teach him some humility but either way Biden will get the credit whether he deserves it or not.
You might be the only one saying Biden should have 'flooded' Ukraine with missiles. Talk about playing right into Putin's hands! That might possibly be the absolute worst in a long list of options.

Ukrainians conducting terrorist attacks in Russia proper would be a TERRIBLE idea. It would instantly redouble Russian enthusiasm for the war effort and make it near impossible for the West to justify continued support for Kiev.

Be serious. Nothing is emerging.

Putin turns 70 in September. By this age, Stalin was already done with most of his pogroms. You get better parallels to Catherine the Great.

Life is easy when your world view is that everything bad that happens in the world is the fault of the President of the United States. Otherwise you'd have to think through shit and learn nuance. **** that. That's way too complicated. Right?
