It is getting ridiculous the amount of blame-for-inflation that Biden is receiving.

I don't know if it is ignorance-of-economic-issues or pure political bias in trying to pin a negative on the opposing party president but it is pure misinformation.

Here are the reasons for inflation in 2022 and if you read and understand them, you will stop all the ridiculous posts that are being seen here.

Why inflation is happening: Reasons prices are rising in 2022

  • an increase in the money supply
  • a decrease in the production of goods and services
  • an increase in global demand for goods and services
Here is another article that goes into a deeper evaluation of the present inflation:

What is causing inflation? Economists point fingers at different culprits

He said it is inarguable that demand in a pandemic economy surged because of very aggressive fiscal and monetary policies in response to Covid-19. The Obama administration’s stimulus package to respond to the 2008 recession was $787 billion; the pandemic stimulus packages, between the Trump and the Biden administrations, reach around $5 trillion

and yet and in knowing that these are the reasons for inflation, the Republicans keep on blaming Biden for it.

This what Rick Scott said:

“Thanks to the insane tax-and-spending spree of President Joe Biden and Democrats in Washington, we are seeing six straight months of raging inflation.”

Politifact goes on to disprove this statement in very clear details.:

Blame Joe Biden for inflation? Most government spending came earlier

This blaming Biden for our inflation has to stop, or at least the blame be put on Trump as much (or more) for the government spending that occurred during the pandemic and that has been the main cause of inflation occurring.

End of story!

You got it right with this one sentence.

  • an increase in the money supply

Biden pumped trillions into the economy as he kept businesses shut down. Too much money too few goods.

The leftists will do everything they can to try to convince the American public the shit they are experiencing isnt their fault. Its no different than Biden having a near 2 dollar increase in gas prices long before Russia invaded Ukraine, then having Psaki and the other leftist whores blame everything on Putin.

It wont work. The mindless idiot left dont have to be convinced, and everyone else knows better. Own that shit...and get ready for the bloodbath.

Just more mindless anger at not understanding a complex problem.

In March 2020, I saw could see this coming:

On top of that interest rates were kept at a record low, continuing to encourage this kind of risky, cheap credit borrowing that was propping up in the economy, along with highly unessecary, massive tax cuts by Republicans during a time of supposed prosperity, so that if and when things went to ****, fiscal and monetary tools were limited and the government and Fed would be forced to take extreme measures to tackle any downturn that could potentially have a massive impact on the deficit, debt, price stability and inflation.

I am very unsure about price stability and inflation, but the first two will be extreme and as probably further stimulus will be required, are gonna get exponentially worse, these imbeciles talking about "pent up demand" are out of their ****ing minds.

Of course it's much easier to just smash your keyboard to bits blaming "LEFTISTS RAR!!!!!!!!!!!!" than actually think about the problem for any length of time.

I could have never imagined the logistical issues that would occur with global shipping and then a ****ing full scale invasion of a European country....

And we're only just getting started of course when the war begins to affect Middle East food prices, potentially leading to a second more violent Arab spring and total chaos in the region.

And of course all governments and Central Banks, even governments that couldn't afford it spent to hell and gone and now there are few nations without inflation.

But yeah, blame Biden, if it helps you sleep at night.

Chain, you evidently don't like to read and do the research necessary before you open your mouth and put your foot in it.

If you had bothered to read the second link (the one from NBC) you would have realized that the amount of increase of money supply under Biden has been $1.9 trillion while the increase in the money supply by Trump in 2020 was close to $5 trillion.

As such, if Biden is to blame for the increase in money supply, you first have to blame Trump.

"Trump pumped trillions into the economy as he kept businesses shut down. Too much money for too few goods". That is the reality/fact of it all.

Read and learn!

Sounds like a Biden scorecard. It started on his watch as he argued for and got massive amounts of spending.

Nice try. Inflation is alway a monetary function and Biden pumped billions into the economy. Ask Milton Friedman, a Nobel Laureate in Economics

Inflation is alway a monetary function and Biden pumped billions into the economy.

Incorrect.

Monetary Policy = Domain of the Central Bank
Fiscal Policy = Domain of the Government.

2 years ago I talked about the potential for inflation because anyone with a brain could see it coming with not just the way the US Government was spending, but everyone was spending around the world in response to the pandemic and the monetary policy of many central banks around the world.

Then of course there was the logistics issue which I didn't anticipate being as bad as it got and now a war in Europe started by Russia.

You guys have absolutely no idea what the hell you are talking about, you're looking for cheap political points by pandering to people who don't understand a thing about economics, when you yourself don't understand economics.

All you needed to present is your first link.

“Cost-push inflation” happens when businesses’ costs go up, so they pass the price increases on to consumers. For example, if the price of oil goes up, the cost of making and shipping products also goes up, so companies might raise prices to cover those increased costs.

The price of oil? Jeez, when did we see the price of oil go up? From the first ****ing day that Biden was installed in the WH. And we've been seeing prices for EVERYTHING rise since that day.

Supply and demand are not the only factors that can lead to inflation, however. Inflation can also be caused by increases in the money supply. If the government prints more money, it devalues the existing money in circulation and leads to higher prices.

Yeah...about seven TRILLION in printed money, thanks to the Biden pukes and the Democrats in Congress (During both Trump's and Biden's time in the WH.). The only bright spot is that it would be more but for a couple of Democrats.

All those other links you pushed are simply spin and nonsense to throw the useful idiots off the track...to make excuses for the Biden pukes. "It's not BIDEN'S fault. It's this...that...and the other."

two years, eh? So you must have seen the dangers of the policies Biden was pushing and realized the possible consequences?

Thanks, but I'll take Milton Friedman's take on the issue over your political rant. He's got one more Nobel Prize in Economics than you.

Total no response.

You have no idea what you’re talking about.

Cheap political points are all you’re after.

No irony in this post. I cite a Nobel Prize Winner and you insult me. Talk about "total no response".

The simple explanation I could think of would be this.

If Biden policies caused all this inflation, and the WH seeing all the damage to his pole numbers, why wouldn't they fix it?

Because they didn't cause it and there is nothing major they can do. That Rick Scott crap is pure lies. And he knows it. It's designed for the least educated voters. The jobless rate is one month from being the lowest it's ever been. Wall Street for the most part has been hovering near record numbers.

With recovery always comes some suffering.

The Fed has a lot of blame for inflation being what it is. The Fiscal stimulus that was given in 2020 and at the beginning of 2021 was the main reason inflation went up. During this entire time, the Fed did not do anything to keep inflation in check.

Generally, when inflation goes up, interest rates go up as well................and yet the Fed did not raise interest rates until this year in March. That means that for the whole period of time (since July 2020) that the stimulus program was inserting Fiscal stimulus to the economy and inflation was climbing, the Fed acted dovishly and did not do anything to stop it. That is as much the reason for inflation going up as anything else.................if not more.

This is economics 101 and yet none of you seem to understand it.

It is a sad state of affairs when ignorance takes hold of the story.

Trump didn't keep businesses shut down, idiot democrat state politicians did.

Most people with ANY basic economics knowledge would recognize his name immediately. Sorry I assumed you would.

Educate yourself
The problem is you can find many economists who all have different views on the subject matter. That you pick one that makes Biden look bad is nothing new.

He could be on the money or way off.

Oh was Biden one of those?
We aren't electing the president this year.

but his party, yeah they should get smacked, hard... and deservedly so.

But not the Republicans shutting down businesses in their state, nor the Republicans in Congress. Got it. I think I've found the underlying pattern.

I don't recall any draconic laws to shut down businesses in Republican run states or cities.. how about you refresh my memory?

sure I mean the whole country shut down for a bit, but then, things started opening back up in Republican states while many democrat run state and cities, were like "nuh uh"

mostly the ones with dem leaders who were like "I can go to a restaurant but not you ", or "I don;t have to wear a mask, but you do"

Sure. They have a lot of blame, but they aren't the ones who caused the inflation and it's pretty much too late for them to fix it without sending the US into a recession. They certainly won't do that in an election year.
