She used the American Civil Liberties Union to help her win and continue using the F word on her property. And she looks sweet...

Fitting last name.

Free speech is a bitch, ain't it?
Yes. I agree with the first judge. Kids at school nearby. But somehow she doesn't look like someone who cares much about kids.

Right the fanatics on the left would never use a cuss word? Right?
Post # 2 in the running for the stupid post of the week!

Maybe trying reading Cohen vs Califorina
A case decided in 1971......

Most do not like it but that is protected by the 1st amendment according to the court.

What Does Free Speech Mean?

The First Amendment states, in relevant part, that:

“Congress shall make no law...abridging freedom of speech.”

Freedom of speech includes the right:

  • Not to speak (specifically, the right not to salute the flag).
    West Virginia Board of Education v. Barnette, 319 U.S. 624 (1943).
  • Of students to wear black armbands to school to protest a war (“Students do not shed their constitutional rights at the schoolhouse gate.”).
    Tinker v. Des Moines, 393 U.S. 503 (1969).
  • To use certain offensive words and phrases to convey political messages.
    Cohen v. California, 403 U.S. 15 (1971).
  • To contribute money (under certain circumstances) to political campaigns.
    Buckley v. Valeo, 424 U.S. 1 (1976).
  • To advertise commercial products and professional services (with some restrictions).
    Virginia Board of Pharmacy v. Virginia Consumer Council, 425 U.S. 748 (1976); Bates v. State Bar of Arizona, 433 U.S. 350 (1977).
  • To engage in symbolic speech, (e.g., burning the flag in protest).
    Texas v. Johnson, 491 U.S. 397 (1989); United States v. Eichman, 496 U.S. 310 (1990).

Free speech does not include your freedom to insult or defame people.
That's where the law comes in.

in the US it does, and it means that or else, because when your government attempts to squelch free speech it has jumped the shark of democracy.

Well to be clear, free speech does not include defamatory comments so he was right on that one, but it definitely does protect you from liability just because you hurt someone's feelings.

As to defamation, flying a banner at your house that a politician sucks, or perhaps using even harsher language is not going to be found to be defamatory in any court of law I am familiar with. It's her opinion and she's free to voice it unless otherwise barred by local ordinances, etc.

I'm just glad she has shown us who she is.

Yep.

Her conduct is not going to get Biden out of the white house.
Her actions aren't going to get Trump back into the White House.
Instead, her actions only serve to convince her neighbors that she's a classless idiot.
Willing to bet she's lost her spot in the women's book club and won't be invited to the next cotillion ball.

Don't be silly. If you defamed me I can take through the courts and if my case was documented and good enough, you would be found guilty. So much for you assumption of free speech. You s cream about it like you invented it.

Well good for her. Another classy Trumper speaking their mind and making friends in the neighborhood.
Now the entire world knows the name of another stupid deplorable Trump supporter.
