as I predicted , this old man is an old cold war warrior who knows the drill , US/EU/Free world will simply crack up Moscow empire much like Ronald Reagan did to ussr in 80s !

President Biden is asking Congress for $33bn (£27bn) in military, economic and humanitarian assistance to support Ukraine - although he insisted that the US was not "attacking Moscow ".

That $33 billion could go towards finishing the Wall and rounding up every illegal third worlder here in the states and deporting the scum.

I'm glad to see this. We need to help Ukraine and get that madman the hell out of there, then the world needs to shun him.

the next STEP THE HAGUE FOR mOSCOW EMPIRE !

Good. It's what he deserves for what he has done to the citizens of Ukraine, from the elderly to babies, and all of the animals killed because of his actions.

Putin deserves to roast in Hell after paying a price in this world.

The $33bn is payment for not releasing information about Hunter Biden's relationship with those Ukrainian oligarchs. And the 10% off the top that went to the 'Big Guy'.

That...is going to send a message.

At this point, the space between a war with Ukraine and a war with NATO is so narrow that you could fit a piece of paper between the two and it would be held in place above the ground.

It's clear that the war in Ukraine is an inflection point for a rule-based order.

Putin made a giant mistake. He should have held off his invasion til the end of Biden's term or waited for a Republican President. Now he has at least two years and ten months of dealing with a United States that is absolutely fixated on his defeat in Ukraine.

Apart from what they feed you in right-wing media, immigrants aren't an existential threat to American democracy, world peace or you and your family, as another poster here likes to say. Those immigrants are either fleeing violence in their native country, or they are coming here to do jobs that Americans need but won't do. Since we have a labor shortage in those jobs, they're actually needed.

On the other hand, Russia is an existential threat to American and world democracy, world peace and our families -- as well as common morality, which Putin is defiling. Russia is clearly on a mission of conquest and plans to challenge the West militarily if left unabated. The least of their infractions is undermining and meddling in our and other nation's elections. They have no reluctance murdering foreign nationals in their own countries. They threaten the world with nuclear weapons. Russia is an outlaw country.

Facing up to Russia is the right thing to do. I'll also say that if Biden was a Republican, the conservatives here would be cheering.

Back in the civil war men could pay others $300 to serve for them, some vocations were exempt, bounties were paid to lure enlistees. Seems we are paying others to fight instead of us now.

You want boots on the ground? The fight in Ukraine is over in a matter of weeks if that happens. But it would spill over and continue for a generation elsewhere.
