Biden administration freezes new oil and gas drilling leases after court rules against key climate tool

With Trump policies we reached energy independence and Russian oil wouldn’t be an issue, Now under Biden anti energy policies it’s a huge deal and gas prices are already rising as we speak.
HELLO!!!!!!!!!!
Yes under Trump we became a NET EXPORTER of oil products NOT ENERGY INDEPENDENT ( we NEVER were energy INDEPENDENT ) we still had to import different types of oil we used to mix with others and then exported those products
so we Imported oil added it to ours and exported more then we imported and that was up to the time the Russians and the Saudi's had their price war where they dropped the price of oil sooooo low they were almost giving it away that the US oil producers could not compete and started shutting down their wells and ( a lot of those wells they still haven't reopened yet keeping supplies low and profits up )
when they shut their wells down they started putting political pressure on Trump to do something
so Trump went to the Saudi's and told them to cut production and RAISE prices or he was going to cut off their Military aid so they did.
so under Trump we became a NET OIL EXPORTER and under Trump we became a net oil importer again
Biden had NOTHING to do with that
Have a nice day

No we didn't. Stop ****ing lying

Get ready for some break the bank recession inducing skies the limit gas prices. Things are going to get bad enough with Russia invading Ukraine and now idiot Biden does this. It’s like he’s trying to destroy America.

“The Biden administration has once again put a pause on new leases and permits for federal oil and gas drilling after a judge blocked the administration from using a metric that estimates the societal cost of carbon emissions”

"We should adapt" is all we ever hear from the Right when it comes to climate change. Now would be a good time for them to start practicing what they preach.

On energy, President Donald Trump has Made America Great Again. In 2019, after 62 years, the United States achieved energy independence, meaning that as a nation we produced more energy than we consumed. In 2019, the United States produced more oil and more natural gas than either Russia or Saudi Arabia. In fact, in June 2020, the U.S. actually exported oil to Saudi Arabia!

We will adapt to paying more for gas by purchasing less goods and services which will have a negative impact on our economy.

HELLO again did we have to import oil to make us oil independent?
YES we were still importing oil .
we were a NET EXPORTER of oil products ( energy ) NOT energy INDEPENDENT

here is a good article from Forbes that may help you understand the difference between being Energy INDEPENDENT and being a NET energy exporter.
https://www.forbes.com/sites/rrapier/2021/11/14/is-the-us-energy-independent/?sh=1db89329138

here is some more info
EIA uses product supplied to represent U.S. petroleum consumption. In 2020, the United States consumed an average of about 18.12 million barrels of petroleum per day
and U.S. crude oil production averaged 11.3 million barrels per day (b/d) in 2020, down 935,000 b/d (8%) from the record annual average high of 12.2 million b/d in 2019.
so if we only produced 11.3 million barrels a day and we consumed 18 million barrels a day how were we INDEPENDENT?
so if we had to import oil from any where that means we needed them to become a NET EXPORTER and NOT INDEPENDENT
have a nice night
the fact is we had to import oil and mixed it with oil we had and exported those products

being ENERGY INDEPENDENT was Just another TRUMP LIE
as I said we became a NET exporter of energy we were NOT energy independent
we needed to import oil, we need to import Electric from Canada for some of our northern states
Being Independent means you don't have to depend on any body for any thing and as I have shown people out here we imported about 7 million barrels of oil a day when Trump said we were Energy independent
Have a nice day

I think that this graphic explains the situation quite adequately.

The US has been in a positive Net Petroleum Products balance (i.e. it exports more than it imports) since 2010 and that never changed. What did change was that the US imported less crude oil from mid 2019 (when Mr. Trump was the President) until mid 2021 (when Mr. Biden was the President) and has (since January 2022 again started importing less crude oil. On balance, the US had a negative NET Total Trade balance for about 30 of Mr. Trump's 48 months and a positive one for about 18 months. So far, under Mr. Biden, the US has had a positive NET Total Trade balance for about six months and a negative one for about seven.

What that means is (very roughly)

NET PETROLEUM IMPORTSa.JPG
[NOTE - The "Positive" months are bad and the "Negative" months are good.]

AND you shouldn't forget that the drop in imports during Mr. Trump's last 18 months coincided with a major drop in overall petroleum products consumption.

Bozo Biden is damn determined to make us all pay $4 or $5 for a gallon of gas.

This is what happens when unelected bureaucrats are running the oval office.
We are paying are paying roughly $4.79 for unleaded in southern CA.

And when you finally succeed in establishing term limits on all of your legislators then you will end up having unelected bureaucrats running ALL of the political offices.

They are already warning in Central Ohio area that gas prices will reach 4+ bucks a gallon by Memorial Day. It went up 12 cents per galllon so far this week alone which has already become a burden for most and pretty much snuff out any plans for holiday travel from Memorial Day and beyond for many.
Every necessary item we need will cost more due to the cost of gasoline used by the trucks that delivered them. There are a lot of people struggling to feed their family and heat their homes as is. They are struggling to fill their tanks so they can get to work. All this while this country has a reservoir of energy and this jackhammer in office refuses to open up the spigots, let it flood the market that would not just help the U.S. but many in the world.

Gasoline is a much smaller expense than student loan payments and healthcare costs for most.

A few months ago, America was energy independent. Now we're Russia's and Saudi Arabia's little bitch.

Let's go Brandon.

Gasoline is required to transport every thing everybody buys. That means everything goes up.

Duh.

A few months ago the American rate of consumption of petroleum products was much lower than it is now.

PS - The US was NEVER "energy independent", all that happened was that for a period it exported more oil than it imported.

I'm sure that'd be around $4 if it weren't for the ridiculously high state gas tax.

You mean the state gas tax proposition that was written in legal mumbo jumbo type language so confusing that the voter thought they were really voting against it instead of for it?

Has nothing to do with Biden.

YES!!!!
we were a NET EXPORTED of energy I never said we weren't.
and in order to do that we had to IMPORT oil from other countries
YES WE HAD TO IMPORT OIL TO BECOME A NET EXPORTER OF ENERGY
we consume 18 Billion barrels of oil a day in the US and the US oil producers only pumped 13 Billion barrels at their peak
so if we used almost 5 Billion barrels MORE a day then we produced we were NOT energy independent
again the people on the right are spreading the lie Trump told.
He said we were energy independent and we were NOT.
if we have to import oil to make into gas because we use 5 Billion barrels more a day as were produce.
We are NOT energy independent.
we import electric from Canada for several cities and states in the north we are NOT energy independent
.we export a lot of Natural gas and that may have helped to made us a NET ENERGY EXPORTER
Have a nice night

again DID we import oil?
YES we did about 5 Billion barrels a day.
we consumed 18 Billion barrels a day and our oil producers only produced 13 Billion barrels a day
so where did that 5 Billion barrels come from ?
Did it just appear out of thin air?
Have a nice night

People in the US have to start asking why haven't the US oil companies reopened all the wells they shut down back in 2020
in Feb and March of 2020 they were producing almost 13 Billion barrels a day
in May of 2020 they cut their production almost 2 Billion barrels a day because of the Russian / Saudi price war.
and they did start increasing it again and it has gone up very slowly, and is still almost a Billion barrels a day less then they were back in 2020
Maybe that is one reason they are keeping oil prices high
Have a nice night

I've debunked your numbers over and over in other threads but you refuse to acknowledge reality.

Have a nice day, I won't waste any more time on you.

You literally said "the definition of energy independence is producing more than consumed" which has already been shown to you isn't true for the US.
