Well, seeing as how the conservative crazy ones are the ones making tapes calling for the destruction of Israel and the United States, I can see where the media is coming from...

We got our share of whacko's on the Christian side as well. Oral Roberts seeing a 900 foot Jesus in Tulsa, Oklahoma. God telling Pat Robertson to run for President. Jerry Falwell (________________) just fill in the blank.

Maybe we'd think differently of muslim cleric's if they had more infomercials on cable. Then again, it could be like pouring gasoline on a fire if we had to see ads for "Muslims Gone Wild!"

I don't like to defend the media, but sometimes I have to. There's an old expression; "Dog bites man" is not news. "Man bites dog" is news. The clerics who call for murder are newsworthy. Secondly, these clerics seem to be the rule, rather than the exception to the rule. The most powerful and popular clerics are the ones who are saying those things.

sadly, I have noticed that. Most Americans no nothing of islam except that they're terrorists with rags on their heads who go around screaming jihad.
Although I'm sure alot of muslims think Americans are a bunch of fat pigs who care about nothing except jesus, themselves, they're country, and mcdonalds.

Propoganda to villianize and demonize the "enemy" is nothing new in American politics or the media. It was done with the Germans in WWI, the Japs in WWI, the Ruskies during the Cold War, and Muslems today. By making the enemy all-evil and demonized, we can feel more like we are the good guys when we go in and bomb tens of thousands of civilians and start wars.

Unfortunately it is nothing new, and folks still buy it.

Please show me a call from a Muslim cleric who's opinion is accepted by large numbers of Muslims who is calling for peace with Israel and full recognition of thier status as a free nation.

Please show me where there have been large rallies of Muslims calling for an end to the violence being carried out by Islamis terrorists.

Hadhrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad - the fifth khalifa of the Ahmadiyya Movement in Islam.

The Ahmadiyya Movement in Islam has promoted peace from its beginnning in 1889. Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad, the founder of the community, wrote in his book Braheen-e-Ahmadiyya, "I hearby declare that the time for the Jihad of the sword has ended".

the ahmadiyya community has over 240 million members all over the world. so yes, i would consider us to be "accepted by large numbers"
