Bexar County, San Antonio reports 110 new COVID-19 cases on Sunday

Nine additional deaths were announced


SAN ANTONIO – The city of San Antonio is reporting 46,401 total COVID-19 cases, an increase of 110 cases on Sunday.

According to numbers posted on the city’s website, there are now 802 total COVID-19 related deaths in Bexar County, as of Sunday, which is an increase of nine new deaths.

Hospitalizations in the area are still continuing in a downward trend, city numbers indicate.

City officials reported that 366 patients are hospitalized, 162 are in the intensive care unit and 103 are on ventilators. There are 16% of staffed beds available and 64% of ventilators available.

At least their hospital(s) don't appear to be overwhelmed.

We have an office hear there. I think they received nine patients that were checked for being positive in the last week. So it's good to see that the trend is actually going down.

Bear Co. has a case fatality rate of 2.3% below national 3.0%
 
What people don't seem to realize is that the virus and fire have a lot in common. A tiny flame can set a house on fire, and that house fire can catch the surrounding homes on fire etc. The virus works the same way. Just a tiny amount of virus can infect a hundred people and those people can infect those around them.
