I've heard, for years, from the right, that raising the minimum wage creates unemployment. People on the right will often say, "well, why not raise it to $50 an hour, then?" See, that's a strawman argument ( disguised as a question). No, we don't want to make it so high it will burden companies so much that that will create higher unemployment, But there is a threshold which, where you can raise it to and it will create more jobs. It will benefit the economy.

I know you conservatives and republicans can't wrap your head around it but Here is a lecture by a one percenter, a plutocrat, a guy whose income is 1000x the median wage. He's the kind of guy many entrepreneurs want to be, and there are probably more republicans than democrats in that group. However, there are, in point of fact, both. Republicans and conservatives make this error that democrats are anti-capitalist. We are not. I am not, at least. I've been self employed most of my life, and I've employed a small group of people. I don't do big, that's not me, but I'm all for it, if you can do it.

He explains it, very well. Pay attention to what this bank owner, who has funded over 30 companies, has to say. And if you aspire to be a one percenter, or just achieve affluence, check out his argument, This one per center explains why Bernie was right, we need a $15 per hour minimum wage, and he has proof that it is the right thing to do.

I would say even the Dems that call themselves Socialists are not actually Socialists. Because I have heard what Socialists say, and that's not what Bernie and AOC says.

Noam Chomsky calls them 'social democrats'. That is the correct term, I don't know why Bernie calls himself a socialist. All he did was shoot himself, and the democratic party, in the foot.

How much are you willing to pay for a 1/4 ponder at McDonalds?

Go get a number two meal at mcdonalds. It costs more than the minimum wage.

I know it, it's getting ridiculous now

So what then when there's a 15 dollar min wage?

If we cut the minimum wage in half could we expect the prices to fall 50%?

The argument you seem to be supporting is let the average american stay underpaid so corporate america can keep making their profits. Why is it always the lowest people on the ladder who are expected to support the wealthy? Why can't the top executives take a bit of a pay cut to raise the minimum wage. So what the guy doesn't make fifty million this year and only forty five million. Boo hoo.

Which was the point of the video from the OP...

So you cannot answer the question?

Why?

I did answer it's not my fault you couldn't understand the answer.

He is the original question that you are unable to answer

It's hard to put up a good argument that Dems are anti-cap when corp profit and the stock market does better under Dem admin than under Rep. Yet, the Reps have done a good job of condemning Dems for being anti-business while the Dems stand around with their...hands in their pockets.

What we need is a living wage minimum based on COL by region, not wholly being the burden of employers to begin with.

The working folks at the bottom of the ladder bring home more money, that's what happens.

If the labor cost was reduced 50%, where would those savings go?
Into the pockets of the executives and investors of course. Where else would it go?

And what do they do with that extra money? Stock buybacks?

They all know this. Why they support cutting their own throats I will never understand.

It's an interesting phenomena created by decades of this idea that somehow someone is going to get more than them...

How much are you willing to pay for a 1/4 ponder at McDonalds?

A quarter pounder in Seattle, where the $15 per hour law was enacted, is $3.79
See, the effect of the $15 per hour wage isn't as dreadful as republicans and conservatives seem to think.
I would gladly pay that knowing that minimum wage workers have a livable wage.

So you cannot answer the question?

Why?

I answered it. Was the question "what is the price of a quarter pounder with $15 minimum wage?"

It's $3.79 ( in Seattle, where there is a $15 minimum wage).

How much are you willing to pay for a 1/4 ponder at McDonalds?

How much did the quarter pounder go up with a $15 min wage?

I can't do a before and after, but in Seattle, where there is a $15 wage, a 1/4 pounder is $3.79
That's not too bad, so that those at the bottom can live.

That's my point. I would gladly pay extra for a quarter pounder so someone can actually live on their wages.
