My point is that your comment was all too simplistically stereotyping.

I know this may be anecdotal, but I have these two male friends. One is gay and the other straight. But if you met them you really wouldn't know which was which. The straight one is flamboyant and outrageous, while the gay one is very much your average-Joe kind of guy. Both men know each other, both men are involved in theatre and both men laugh when ever other friends point out their personality switch.

My point is that you can lean on stereotypes all you want, it only makes you look like an ass when you do.
