Demonstrating again why actors and entertainers should just shut up and do their job - entertain us - Ben Affleck appeared on Friday's Real Time with Bill Maher on HBO, taking on a role that was too far above his head: Real World Politics!

Despite being told/reminded that Bush did NOT leak Plame's name, Affleck went off, demonstrating his grasp of the law and of the military. During his demented tirade, Affleck declared bush could get HUNG  for leaking Plame's name. He added that his doing so would be treason, that he could be KILLED for such an act. (Never mind that it is a President's power to declassify documents - which is not really the point here - but the idea of being able to kill a President for such a heinous crime such as this. If you could kill a President for treason, Clinton would have been put down before ever getting out of his 1st term for REAL acts of treason. :lamo )

Affleck went on to demonstrate his expert Hollywood military knowledge by adding that we military members shoot people on the battlefield for 'things like that'. :rofl

Keep it up, Ben! You and Barbara Streisand are doing wonders for the GOP and for American morals and ethics. More and more people across this nation are joining together to shout out loudly, "Shut up and entertain me - THAT is what you are getting paid for! That is your only use and the only reason you are rich and well-known"

Ben Affleck: Bush 'Can Be Hung' for 'Probably' Leaking Plame's Name
Posted by Brent Baker on April 8, 2006 - 02:16.
Reminiscent of Al Franken on the Late Show last October, on Friday's Real Time with Bill Maher on HBO, actor Ben Affleck charged that President Bush “probably also leaked” Valerie Plame's name and so “if he did, you can be hung for that! That's treason!” In full rant, an apoplectic Affleck asserted: “You could be killed. That's not a joking around Tom DeLay 'I'll do a year, I bribed the state officials with corporate money.' That's like they shoot you in the battlefield for doing that.”

Hollywood political animal Ben Affleck suggested on TV the other night that PresidentBush could be guilty of treason - a hanging offense! - for his part in Valerie Plamegate.

Affleck appeared as a panelist on “Real Time with Bill Maher” with Sen. Joe Biden and the Washington Examiner’s Bill Sammon to discuss speculation that Bush declassified the ex-CIA agent’s name, and told his second in command, Vice President Dick Cheney, to get the info to the press.

“Even the prosecutor, even (Special Counsel Patrick) Fitzgerald is saying Bush didn’t leak the name,” said Sammon. “So let’s be clear, Bush didn’t leak Valerie Plame’s name - not that we know of.”

“Because if he did, you can be hung for that!” Affleck jumped in. “That’s treason!”

Maher agreed, prompting Jennifer Garner’s hubby to spin off on another tirade.

“You could be killed, that’s not joking around Tom DeLay ‘I’ll do a year, I bribed the state officials with corporate money.’ ” the Cambridge leftie argued. “That’s like they shoot you in the battlefield for doing that. Don’t you think we should find out who leaked that name?”

Oh, hang it up, Ben.

Don't dismiss him so easily, these Hollywood types have a lot of influence over the less intelligent among us. The same people who sit around and watch Oprah all day, or read those celebrity rags in the grocery store, these people vote, they take polls, and they are very dangerous to our security. My largest problem with these folks on the left is, this idea that we don't ever need to go to war, that you can talk your way through any disagreement. This is just radical nonsense, the moment folks start buying in to this, is the moment we wake up to the reality of a mushroom cloud, or some other tragic event

I saw Affleck on Real Time and he is a blooming idiot. He should have been blond. (Can't help of thinking of that duck on that commercial. "Aflac" What a quack.)

But he is insignificant. Liberals usually have a keen sense of smell and most can see through the Hollywood types such as Afflack, Moore, O'Reilly, Coulter and Limbaugh.

His influence isn't even measurable in my humble opinion.

But Bill Maher is a genious.

I saw the show. Biden seemed quite sharp on a few points.
The others were basically a waste of airtime.

I think he's just pissed about Gigli...

The only difference between Bill Maher and the high school dropouts that make up the rest of the liberal celebrity crowd is that Maher is a FUNNY unreasonable hysteric.

Genius he is not.

Ever notice how ignorant and uneducated most Democrat constituencies are?

Most liberal celebrities (literally, nearly every single one) is a high school or college dropout.

Criminals vote overwhelmingly for Dems-not smart people.

Blacks place dead last of every single kind of aptitude proficiency test that has ever, in any way, tracked race-they vote for Dems-90%+.

Labor unions (i.e., tradesmen too incompetent to stay employed without union sleeze twisting arms)-vote for Dems.

Students (captive audiences to over-the-top liberal brainwashing) tend to be more liberal-until they get out in the real world and get some unbiased experience...that's when most people go conservative.

Very telling.

ZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzz...............

Affleck. Isn't he that duck that does those stupid commercials? Why in the wide wide world of sports would anyone want to listen to him? No one does in the commercials.

Ben Affleck is apparently an idiot of the first degree. I haven't watched the episode, but if he actually said:
“Because if he did, you can be hung for that!” Affleck jumped in. “That’s treason!” He said that Bush can have a large penis. Affleck probably meant to say "you can be hanged for that!”

:rofl

Hehehehehehehe.....

Careful there Alias.......

Before you start criticizing another person's educational level you might want to check your own grammar.

I saw Ben Affleck in a few movies. Maybe he should be hanged.

So let's get this straight here, liberal celebreties are not as educated and neither are criminals but they're both liberal/democrats. The folks who are getting the most education are also liberal too. So, both sides of the spectrum, eh? Seriously lame argument there aquapub. But if you insist, how about showing some serious figures that support your asinine claims.

Republicans tend to be more religious. Religious people tend to be stupider than non-religious people. Therefore, republicans are stupider.

Whee! Syllogisms are fun!

(Not to be taken seriously or internally)

Now I'm ALL confused. If the smartest people are conservative and liberals are dumbasses....how come the most educated people we have to offer are being blamed for "indoctrinating" liberalism into our students? I mean, after all, if liberals are so stupid, how come they hold so many masters and doctorates and teach at our universities?

I'm not really confused. I know this is just your typical, grumpy, rightwinger blowing off some steam.... no harm in that. Tell us how you really feel. :rofl

Any idiot can get a degree or teach in a university. I call them "educated dummies". A lot of them are hiding because they can't make it in the world of competition. No competitition in the academic world. Very attractive job. Lots of time off, good pay, good benefits, if you get tenured they can't fire you unless you kill the president, etc. To prove my point, look at the idiots they are turning out. That Churchill guy in Colorado comes to mind. You ever hear him talk. He talks so grandoise and uses some big words, but doesn't really say a damn thing.

Reminds me of a particular Harvard graduate now working in a big white house in Washington. :rofl

Washington is full of them, both parties.

Well, I cannot deny that I do know some very educated people that couldn't pour pee out of a boot even with directions written on the heel.

I like that one. How about a couple tacos short of a combination plate...

There's an old one.

Education and common sense are two totally differnt things. One of the reason some of these professors such as Churchill and the ilk stay in the educational system is because in the classroom they have power to influence others and most of the time aren't questioned because of their authority and tenyur. They just can't get thier lifes together in the real world because in many cases thier world view is so warped from lack of common sense and "street smarts".

Oh, hang it up, Ben.

It' time to play grasping for straws... Affleck was actually defending the President in that exchange. I saw the show. Affleck was making the point that, although Bush has done some ridiculous things, he hasn't committed treason. Then Afflleck said the quote the freepers are harping on.

Don't take my word for it, download it as a Bittorent from Mininova if you want. www.mininova.org. It's episode 7 or 8 of the current season.

Welcome to another episode of "Out of context theatre!"
