BBC News - Belgian Catholic offices raided in sex abuse probe

Quote(Belgian authorities have raided the headquarters of the Belgian Catholic Church during an investigation into child sex abuse claims.

A spokesman for the Brussels prosecutors' office confirmed that the palace of the archbishop of Mechelen-Brussels had been sealed off.

Police also raided the home of retired Archbishop Godfried Danneels.)

Although this particular investigation is ongoing in a EU Nation, it affects the entire Catholic Church.
Had it simply been an isolated incident in some tiny Country in Europe, I would have posted it in the appropriate section, even though there is no classification specifically for 'Breaking news' within that section.

Almost every week we hear that yet another Catholic official is under investigation for sexual misbehavior with a child under their protection.
And every time such is reported we get some type of statement from either the Pope or some Cardinal that the Holy Roman Catholic Church regrets what has happened and will take the strongest action to ensure such does not happen again.

Yeah Right.

Good. I'm tired of the church being treated differently from any other group that had hidden such abuses for years.
