A woman who claimed to have insider knowledge of Moscow's attempts to meddle in the US elections has been detained in Russia, state media reported. Anastasia Vashukevich, who goes by Nastya Rybka on social media, was deported from Thailand on Thursday after pleading guilty to charges including soliciting prostitution, a Thai immigration official said.

Vashukevich made headlines last year when she publicly asked the United States to help free her from a Thai detention center in exchange for information on alleged ties between the Trump campaign and Russia.​

Russians have a lot of clout in Thailand where I lived and worked for 13 years. The beach resort city and honkeytonk of Pattaya on the Gulf of Thailand is run by the Russian mob. They pay well any elite in control in Bangkok. The corrupt playboy king always has his hand out first. The generals protect him cause he's their boy.

One of Putin's boys showed up in Bangkok only days after Nastya was arrested a year ago and arrangements were made. In typical Thai fashion the generals let things die down hoping we'd forget or fall into neglect of the whole of it, and now the Boys of Bankgok have made their move. They're stupid enough to think they could have done it quietly. The Trump administration certainly did not want Nastyia any place except a jail whether in Thailand or in Russia. Russia preferably of course.

There's opinion and there's informed opinion, i.e., you vs me.

You say "lost" we say snatched away by the generals in Bangkok.

You say the "world of law" which excludes Thailand, Russia, Trump who are the big three in this. Belarus which is making noises at Russian military activities had been her destination -- via Moscow of course as arranged conveniently with the Thai military rulers.

Now that Nastyia is back in Russia we can expect Putin will be getting in on some of Deripaska's action among friends. Let's not forget Snowden either. Serving Putin does have its bennies. Until their luck runs out over there.

I posted the fact Trump was never going to allow her to enter the United States. Hence FBI operating out of the US Embassy in Bangkok attempted unsuccessfully to interview her in prison, which FBI would have done regardless.

What we do know is that she never produced anything after being arrested in Thailand, after being incarcerated, and after saying she would produce the goods. That leaves things pretty open ended. One would then need to trust Thai authorities and Russians in what they say over what she said.

But Deripaska's representatives have accused her of fabrication and said she was never his mistress. Deripaska is close to Russian President Vladimir Putin and is a onetime associate of Trump's former campaign manager, Paul Manafort.
