Being "invisible."

Okay, will someone enlighten me as to what are the benefits of being invisible? It seems to me that those who are invisible still show up as being on the website, so how can they be "invisible" if I can see their name? Help! I'm curious.

And maybe this answer is already here, but I'm too lazy to go looking for it.
 
Short answer: You are a donating member.

Others should not be able to see the user online. :)
