Being a republican today is akin to supporting Trump whether one supports Trump or not

Deja Lynn Alvarez, who went on to serve as the co-president of Philly Women Rally and one of the lead organizers of this year’s Women’s March on Philadelphia, said she was blindsided to learn the organization had partnered with Republicans, wondering: “Why are you giving these people a platform?”

Philly Women Rally eventually splintered. At the heart of its split was a question that has dogged feminist organizations for years: Is the women’s movement, led largely by liberals, about ideology or about support for all women? And as Republican women fight for equality within their own party, some are asking where they fit in.

Alvarez, who recently announced a run for Philadelphia City Council, sees the current women’s movement — which in many ways was spurred by the first Women’s March in 2017 — as a liberal one that has a responsibility to fight the Trump administration. Identifying as a Republican today, she said, is akin to aligning yourself with the White House.

Being a Democrat today is akin to taking the black vote for granted .. cause you ain't black if you don't vote Democrat.

An astronomically small number of black people vote Republican and the conservative reasoning for that always involves insulting them by claiming black people are too stupid to vote in their own self-interest.

Perhaps instead you should ask why they so resoundingly reject the republican party and what you can do to improve it.

Yeah, we're going to need a clear citation on that one.

Every time on this forum that question has ever been asked of conservatives, that has been the most popular response. You can even look in my started threads history to see where I started one explicitly about that.

So why don't you tell me in your own words why virtually no black people vote Republican. Something about them being on the "democratic plantation" right?

It’s not like democrats support abusing young girls, supported Epstein, support Rapist Jake Blake, etc

Dems also never support conservative women.

Because they believe the lies being told by the democrats. Just yesterday at my business my coworker and I got into a debate with a black male and female customers. Both have seen the light. Both are noticing the lies being told to them about republicans. It seems that the dems calling Trump a racist and the constant attacks on him started this realization. I have been debating politics with customers for decades. I have never seen support for a republican from this community like I am seeing now....ever.

Also when trump said what have you got to lose.....it resonated. The man mentioned it and the woman nodded.

Take aways
Bidens racist words from the 70's calling blacks animals.
Bidens gun control policies
Bidens mental health
Trumps releasing blacks from prison
Trumps being attacked constantly
Trump telling it like it is roughness (both liked it)

Since you're talking to a black person who voted republican, this last election and is still going to vote republican come this election. I'd have to say that your "virtually no" comment. Is nothin more than hyperbole.

When it comes to blacks voting democrat, it comes more from how you're brought up. If you grow up staunch democrat owned district, or even in a democrat voting household. You're told each year that you must vote democrat and that there are no acceptations.

I know that I received more thane enough of that from my father growing up and my mother abstained from voting, up until 2008. That would play a rather large part in why we do not tend to vote republican.

Being a Democrat today is akin to being a communist. Womens groups have nothing to do with helping women and everything to do with promoting communism.

So to summarize both of your comments, you believe black people are too stupid to know what is in their own self interest and vote for it.

They vote for who they're told to vote for by their parents and they're so gullible they believe all the democratic lies. It has nothing to do with the republican platform and rhetoric, you are completely absolved of any responsibility and it's all their fault for being gullible lemmings.

Please keep that kind of rhetoric up, it's totally winning them over to the republican side.

Well said.

I was pressured by many family members to vote democrat. Republicans are for the rich and don't care about the little man. Democrats are for the working man etc. Then I began to work and make my own living. I noticed that democrats tended to raises taxes on even the working man. I noticed that they always seemed to take from me to give to folks that didn't earn it. I was struggling to make ends meet and my money was being given to others. It seemed like they wanted to buy votes almost. This caused me to look at the republican party. Once I began actually looking for myself it was over. From gun control down the line, the republican party made sense.

Today the democrats are much worst than when I was figuring things out. It was tougher back in the late 80's. Today its easy. Socialism vs capitalism. Higher taxes. Gun bans. Defund police. Healthcare for all on my back.

No thanks.

No, you're just desperately trying to paint it as such and now the added racism of that fact from you is a pretty nice touch as well.

Something that I'm not all that surprised to actually see given the camp.

You literally just argued that black people don't vote republican because they blindly vote for who their family tells them. You're a racist and your argument is rejected.

The funny part is that we can acknowledge that there are many blacks who are either swayed, or outright forced through that same act of peer pressure. So we know that they generally don't ever vote against the flow of those around them. While in more rural areas, and more open communities. You have blacks that are far more conservative and far more self reliant. They aren't forced to live of the government like many of those who're crammed into inner cities and it's generally easier for them to make a better life for themselves. Far removed from what the local government is wiling to allow.

Now if Rabid could separate himself from that racist belief that them being black, is what makes them too ignorant to actually make that change, or even strive for it. We could find some common ground here.

I did not say blindly. The only one attributing anything negative to someone's race here, is you. You know that right?

Because whites have the same issue in their own homes. As well as anyone of any other race.

Yes you did, you explained the MASSIVE disparity of black people voting almost exclusively for democrats as being them just doing what their family and friends tell them. It's incredibly demeaning. You just can't fathom that anybody would honestly look at the republican party and reject it so you make up these insults.

Actually my statement was more concerned with the concept of peer pressure and how it affected a number of the black population, especially those that lived in heavier democrat controlled districts.

How is it demeaning to point out something that is actually happening?

At least my stance isn't solely predicated on their race.

My statement isn't completely predicated on the race. I say black people look at both parties and what they have to offer and rationally choose the party that's in the best interest.

Your claim is that black people are so gullible and weak willed they vote AGAINST their interest because of peer pressure. It's an incredibly demeaning attempt to stereotype black people and outright dismiss any responsibility Republicans might have for being largely unable to garner any votes from the black community.

You know, for a guy who pretends to be black on the internet you really have a crazy low opinion of black people.

he owns the party now. that's not a good thing.
