Uh......there's not much more imperialist then China's desire to control the Spratlys.

How is the desire to exercise control over their own territory "imperialist?"

That's nice, they still got a just and righteous smack down for being wrong.

An unjust and biased ruling from a western imperialist installed kangaroo court.

Because it's not their territory?

According to a tribunal which the Chinese did not ever ask for, but was formed because of the whinings of the imperialist usa.

None of which China asked for, all of which were formed at the insistence of the USA and it's de-facto colony the Philippines

Still think China's behavior's not imperialistic

China has no inherent right to the islands.

You're telling me that China has no inherent right to the it's own territory. Could you get any more ridiculous than that?

It's not China's territory. Just like Tibet.

Only difference is China is still sitting on Tibet, and hasn't been able to do so in the Spratlys.

I fully support the people's government of China in their devotion to secure their territorial sovereignty, and their rejection of a farce of a "tribunal" which was influenced by western imperialist, racist, and capitalist bias.

You're Indian, and you have this view?

There are a number of Indian Leftist radicals who are so pro-China that they even support China's territorial claims against India.

When China attacked India's border outposts in 1962, triggering the 1962 Sino-Indian War, the Indian govt even threatened to outlaw the "Communist Party of India - Marxist " (CPI-M) for treason, until they reformed their views.

Ganapathy, you'll be pleased to know that the current Indian govt is going to be selling a number of weapons to Vietnam and the Philippines, which are claimants in the South China Sea dispute.
These include the BrahMos supersonic anti-ship missile (NATO name: Onyx), as well as the Varunastra advanced heavy anti-submarine torpedo. The world's fastest anti-ship missile, traveling barely 30 feet above the water's surface at Mach 3, the BrahMos is a 1-Shot-1-Kill weapon that can sink any surface ship in China's navy. India will be selling hundreds of these to Vietnam and the Philippines, along with frigates and other naval patrol vessels. India has also recently tested the aerial-launched version of BrahMos, which Vietnam is also very interested in since it can be fired from warplanes.

Delhi and Hanoi Get Serious About the Supersonic BrahMos Missile (And More) | The Diplomat

India is very eager to pay back China for all of its military help to Pakistan.

I'm not Indian. I am Chinese American.

My username is Ganapathy, not because I am hindu, but because I named this account in honor of Comrade Ganapathy, a Maoist leader in India fighting to improve the lives of the poor and downtrodden. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ganapathy_(Maoist)

No, when China signed the UN Convention on the Law of Open Seas (UNCLOS), it knew very well that this included compulsory arbitration as invoked by a dispute claimant. Don't try to fabricate or lie just because you don't know any better.

So you support the violation of another country's territory, eh? Well, that explains a lot. If that's the case, then you had no problem with the Japanese invading half of China during the 1930's then.

Shots have been fired.

But not by Chinese ships, no matter how many U.S incursions into their national waters there have been, trying to provoke world war iii. The chinese have kept a cool head and turned the other cheek towards blatant violations of their territorial sovereignty for the sake of world peace, showing the high moral character of the people's government of China.

The Chicoms have literally been doing nothing but settling old scores since they took power. "Cool head" my ass.

Trying to take back their rightful territory and prevent western imperialists from using their neighbors to threaten their socialist way of life isn't aggression, it's self defense
