“Records show she has more than enough to plunk down on an apartment in the U.S. capital.” Fox News adds that Ocasio-Cortez “reported having between $15,001 and $50,000 in her checking account as of the end of April 2018, according to a Financial Disclosure Report she submitted to the clerk of the U.S. House of Representatives. The financial disclosure also reveals that she has an investment account valued between $1,001 and $15,000.”
Real estate website Zillow states that the median rent in Washington, D.C. is $2,700; Ocasio-Cortez will bring home $174,000 a year for serving in Congress.

That minimum of $15,000 that Ocasio-Cortez had in the bank is 15 times the amount 57% of average Americans had in their savings, as USA Today reported in May 2018. USA Today stated, “The average American has less than $4,000 in savings, while 57% of U.S. adults have less than $1,000 to their names.”

So in my mind, based on her prior record, this and others, I believe she put the story out simply to get attention.

First, last, security deposit + 2 additional month's rent for your example is $13,500 in housing costs over those three months (assuming no broker's fees). Not counting other expenses associated with moving and, you know, living during that period. It's not hard to see how she could exhaust the contents of her checking account if she's sitting on $15K.

I'll give O-C this, she's good at making the GOP look out of touch.

Few facts you are not counting in, first the bank account is said to be between $15k and $50k, not just $15k. Factor in the $1,001 to $15,000 investment account that could be dipped into but, also take in to account she lives with a "partner" who will presumably be moving with her and surely has finances to help out. Also, she does not have to move to DC right away, she can wait until she is closer to collecting the congressional pay then move. If she stays in the Bronx worse case for her is it only about a 5 hour drive to DC, done it many times. But, I don't expect there is much that will require her time until January, DC starts emptying out this time of year, there are only about 15 actual days until adjournment until January. If she needs to be there for awhile there are always Best Westerns and similar to stay in, according to her she has roughed it before so that should be hard on her.

I stand by that to me this is just an attention getting stunt, she's not dumb, she is cunning enough to know how play for position already, who else would slam their potential boss off the bat? (Nancy Pelosi)

None of this suggests she "fabricated" a story. Moving is expensive, as is being between jobs or paychecks. Everyone who's ever done any of that knows this.

The strange compulsion of the right to declare that observation a lie is, again, bizarrely out-of-touch.

Read again, find any place where I said she lied. NOT something you think you read but the actual words she lied or fabricated. Out of touch with what, what it takes to move, you have no idea of how many states and homes I have lived in, or maybe what it is to be between jobs? You mean like with a wife and child to support while between jobs?, don't make me laugh. I never whined about it, I just dug in and did what I had to in order to survive until better things worked out.

As I thought, reading comprehension problem,,,, " but would she fabricate a story" is a question, notice "?" at the end. "yeah she would" is a general answer of belief as in yes I believe she would , not a statement of fact as in "Yes she did".

The original challenge I gave you was: "find any place where I said she lied. NOT something you think you read but the actual words she lied or fabricated." That, to most, implies "did", not could or "would".

Challenge failed due to lack of comprehension.

Evidence provided for this conclusion (her "prior record" that shows she's prone to fabrication) was your idiotic example of her discussing the challenges of moving and securing housing.

One think the Dems won't have a problem with is making Trump jump thru hoops or subpoenaing his tax returns and the results of the Mueller probe. would not be too smug if I were you. A world of hurt is coming Trumps way in January. This is the most crooked Administration in modern history and there is a new sheriff in town.
