"Those objections included: “the inexperience of the Affinity Fund management”; the possibility that the kingdom would be responsible for “the bulk of the investment and risk”; due diligence on the fledgling firm’s operations that found them “unsatisfactory in all aspects”; a proposed asset management fee that “seems excessive”; and “public relations risks” from Mr. Kushner’s prior role as a senior adviser to his father-in-law, former President Donald J. Trump, according to minutes of the panel’s meeting last June 30.

But days later the full board of the $620 billion Public Investment Fund — led by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Saudi Arabia’s de facto ruler and a beneficiary of Mr. Kushner’s support when he worked as a White House adviser — overruled the panel.

Mr. Kushner played a leading role inside the Trump administration defending Crown Prince Mohammed after U.S. intelligence agencies concluded that he had approved the 2018 killing and dismemberment of Jamal Khashoggi, a Saudi columnist for The Washington Post and resident of Virginia who had criticized the kingdom’s rulers."

Nice pay-off for Kushner for turning a blind eye to murder.

Hell, America as a whole is actively involved in helping carry out the slaughter the Saudis are committing in Yemen right now. Why is anyone surprised their death squad likewise got brushed under the rug?

Jared Kushner is a crook, his dad is a crook, and his father-in-law is a crook.

Yes, we've been ignoring it all, but now it's happened to white people, Europeans, again.

I live and work here in Saudi, expat. Everything you heard about the terrible murder of the journalist is true.

Now the trial will occur in Saudi not Turkey. I don't need to say how that will go.

Nothing's stopping Joe Brandon from calling MBS a murderer on Meet the Press and breaking off all ties to the Saudis.

Why hasn't he done this? He's the President. Why isn't that mentioned in the article?

LOL... The Trumps defend the Saudi murderers and get paid by the Saudis but you criticize Biden??... Lol

Trump could literally kill someone on 5th Avenue and you Trumpsters wouldn't care...

Your question is retoricai

For the same reason reason Trump did not

$

But to Biden's credit at least he called MBS out, which is more than what the previous guy has done. Unless petting MBS is punishment.

Trump could kill someone on 5th Avenue and his worshippers would say “Only one?”

Wonder if there are any details on his laptop?.

It's impressive isn't it? They know no shame.

So Kushner gets denied a security clearance… that denial is overruled by his father in law… Kushner communicates directly with MBS via an encrypted messaging app… six months after leaving the White House gets a $2 Billion payout from MBS who overruled the concerns of the board of the fund.

And no one gives a shit.

That tracks.

Oh, what a surprise, a MAGA here to move the goal posts from the son in law of Trump getting a $2 BILLION payout from MBS for services rendered!

Did the article mention this is after Wonder Boy Jared got an over $1 billion payout from Qatar, while he was working in the White House for daddy in law? So the total payouts to Jared from the ME for his government service as an unpaid special advisor to daddy in law are well over $3 billion! Must be nice.

And remember that was after he had pushed for the US to support the blockade on Qatar that was engineered by the Saudis.

I was also wondering about completely irrelevant stuff.

the saudi-led blockade that ended immediately after jared got the $1 billion he needed to keep 666 afloat ... from qatar?

Yes, which was after Jared's daddy went begging to Qatar for money and they turned him down. Then Jared took a position on the blockade contrary to the State Department and the Pentagon, that daddy in law Trump then adopted. Gosh, wonder if Qatar paid off Jared hoping it would influence policy? Nah, they just wanted to bail out an incompetent idiot from a deal about to take down all of Jared's real estate empire. Coincidence!!

Tillerson pushed back on the support. Trump overrode him. Tillerson eventually got fired. All the whole Kushner was doing his own thing in the Middle East including communicating with MBS using WhatsApp. Pompeo eventually calls for an end to the embargo. Kushner gets his bailout from Qatar.

No one cares.

It’s America.
