This article makes an interesting point. Now that Barrett is in, conservatives have one less reason to vote and one more reason to binge Fox News in their La-Z-Boys and pound barrels of cheeseballs.

Not all of these folks know about deep-state, socialist, communist, totalitarian--did I get them all?--liberal plans to super-size the Supreme Court like a happy meal for a fat kid.

Meanwhile, liberals would drink a Covid-flavored milkshake if they had to in order to vote McDonald out.

Yes? No? Maybe?

Actually, Barrett's confirmation has energized republican voters. I see them on the freeway honking horns and flying huge MAGA banners from their cars and trucks.

I've not seen ONE single Biden/Harris flag or banner.

They know what's at stake. Four more years of Trump might not be the best thing in the world, but Joe's Tax Plan would plunge the country into another depression. Biden would be a complete disaster.

Really? That's an interesting take, which does not convince me in any way.

But banners have that impact on me--none. Same as lawn signs. I mean, they say something, but that something isn't much. Some people are surely celebrating. Good for them. Celebrations are fun. And I find the specter of depression due to a tax plan completely unconvincing.

I don't think the nomination will have a big effect, but I think that it will have a small one.

I think that, as your depression remark indicates, Fox News Republicans are strongly motivated by fear, but in this case, the fear is gone. Barrett's already got the job.

I think there is a lot of truth to this. The conservatives on this board will never admit it, but many of them are very demoralized with how utterly ****ing horrible Trump has been...in every conceivable way possible. They are exhausted by the mental gymnastics they have to perform, defending this mentally ill sociopath imbecile as he tries to kill everyone in the country, and in the White House, with COVID-19.

Unless Trump steals this election, the Repug Party will NEVER recover from the unmitigated disaster that Trump has been.

So yeah, the Repug rubes might just say, "Yeah, at least we got Barrett. Let's call it a day."

The OP's shallow thinking of people of opposition to his thinking is eyerolling at this time. First off over 50% approve of Amy Coney Barrett being confirmed. Second, there are a lot of Trump voters out there in 2016 that had real reservations in voting for him. and others who just couldn't.
These same people in 2020 can not wait to cast a vote for Trump because this is the very first time in their lifetime that a president took to heart the promises he made to the American people. I heard some describe it as they would walk on broken glass to vote for Trump.

To me the scariest part of this election is how our media including social media refuses to vet Biden and censor any story that is derogatory to him. And make no mistake a lot of people have taken notice.

Personally Trump reminds me of King Jehu in the book of Kings. And if I am right, Trump is going to win.

Trump is a racist's dream. Never in a million years did they think a white supremacist would actually get elected to the White House. So, yeah, I bet many racists are willing to walk on glass in order to hear Trump preach hate for 4 more years.

The real racist is Biden.

What your ignorance and partisanship has not allowed you to recognize is Trump has proved you wrong in all he has done. and accomplished.

OK, Lemme ask. Do you think America is better off with ZERO Conservatives? that 100% Leftwingnut rule is best?

Anyone who thinks the only reason to vote for Trump is Supreme Court nominations is being willfully blind to reality.

Yes, it's nice to finally remove the liberal stranglehold on the Supremes, but making America great is about so much more than that. In fact, we need Trump even more now than ever. Thanks to the Congressional Elite opposition for the last four years, Trump hasn't gotten everything he...and his voters...wants done. He still has a lot of work to do and he needs a second term to do it.

Well, that's nice, considering the fact that nobody in the history of mankind ever indicated otherwise.

As for the "liberal stranglehold" on the Supreme Court, it had been a 5-4 conservative majority before Barrett. It now sits at 6-3 conservative.

And after Breyer becomes worm food or retires, 7-2 giving us a cushion against Roberts the sellout.

The OP's article indicates otherwise.

But President Donald Trump and Republicans risk becoming victims of their own success. Without the specter of a liberal court to motivate conservative voters anymore, they may find themselves without the issue that played a crucial role in Trump’s unexpected victory four years ago and has fortified his political base throughout a tumultuous first term.

Only if you consider Roberts a conservative. He's not.

There is a reason why they call it "Trump Derangement Syndrome". The Democrat votes in 2020 are based on mindless ANGER and HATE of others with opposing views (Trump and his supporters) rather than love and appreciation of their chosen candidates (Biden and Harris).

OK, Lemme ask. Do you think America is better off with ZERO Conservatives? that 100% Leftwingnut rule is best?

No, but we need REAL conservatives. Not the Nazi Repug Party full of racists, QAnon conspiracy cranks, and anti-science crazy ****ers.

These ****ers have to go. And they will.

230,000 dead. Massive unemployment. The fact that Trump is a mentally ill sociopath racist trying to kill everyone in the White House with COVID-19....

Nah, this mother ****er has to go. And he will.

Because Democrats threatening to pack SCOTUS and shove their legislation through via fiat is of no consequence to us? Huh?
