I don't understand how Barr has gotten away with this for so long.

Attorney General William Barr did not speak at the Republican National Convention this week, but that doesn't mean he's been sitting silently on the sidelines during this election season.Barr has done more than a half-dozen TV interviews with national broadcasters since early June in which he has addressed hot-button issues and political fights central to the 2020 campaign.

It is highly unusual for an attorney general to bluntly attack political opponents, particularly during a presidential campaign. Traditionally, they seek to avoid even the perception of trying to tip the scales in their boss' favor.

Legal experts and Justice Department veterans say it is not the attorney general's job to engage in partisan politics. And they say with these sorts of statements, Barr is doing exactly that.

"He has been operating as a political operative and a campaign aide to the president rather than as attorney general of the United States," said Fred Wertheimer, the founder of the left-leaning watchdog group Democracy 21. "Barr is free to have any views he wants but he's not free to exercise those views as attorney general."

The Justice Department's mission, Wertheimer noted, is to ensure the fair and impartial administration of justice.
"Now, there's no way you can listen to what he says and watch what he does and conclude he is leading the American people to believe he's going to do a fair and impartial administration of justice for all Americans," Wertheimer said.

"There's a whole series of things that Barr has done that fairly viewed are either overt political actions or overt political advocacy, which has no appropriate place and no logical place other than to advance the president's reelection," Ayer said.

In addition, Henry Kerner who heads the United States Office of Special Counsel and was appointed by Trump is responsible for punishing Hatch Act violations.

There were literally hundreds of Hatch Act violations this past week during the RNC. There are only crickets coming from the OSC.

The Trump administrations calculus is that it is too near the election for Congress to issue subpoena's.

That's the Trump "law and order" administration. Literally doing the end-around law and order.

But the only thing in this "whole series" that is mentioned is...

1. Barr being interviewed and expressing his opinion. This is not related to his work.

2. The Obama administration investigation. This IS related to his work and, from a law and order/justice standpoint, very important.

3. Not committing to hold off releasing any report on the Durham investigation until after the election, even though he said that no candidate is under investigation.

Looks to me like that article writer isn't all that interested in anything being "fairly viewed".

Give it up with the "Hatch Act" nonsense. Nobody has ever been charged under that ridiculous law...ever...and nobody ever will.

You are going to have to come up with some REAL charges if you want to "get Trump". Good luck.

The Devil’s Triangle —> Barr + Trump + McConnell

This is shameful, let's get back to an America that we can all recognize in the new year. Vote out the corruption, vote out the lawlessness, VOTE DEMOCRATIC IN NOVEMBER! :2usflag:

Looks to me that you're not interested in anything being 'fairly viewed', you post 'conservative' BS to constantly protect your new Wizard and the Trump Klan Party. You should be proud, but you're not patriotic in the least. Hope you sleep well at night, you'll need your rest.
