Sen. Richard Blumenthal: High Capacity Magazines - The Key Means of Massacre for Mass Murderers Must be Banned

Shooters used high capacity magazines. Therefore, banning them will reduce their lethality.

People like Obama propose a 10 round limit.

Its amazing how obtuse so many people are.

Carrying 3 10 round magazines is no less lethal than a single 30 round magazine. Having to pause for a few seconds to reload is not going to make any difference. High capacity magazines are simply a little bit more efficient and convenient.

And if a criminal is determined to get high capacity magazines, they will simply get it on the black market. If banning unwanted items worked so well, then it would be hard to buy illegal drugs. Obviously that isn't the case.

This is just another example of a problem where government legislation is for the most part ineffective in dealing with it.

Arming teachers in schools would go much further towards preventing things like this than any anti-gun legislation.

Ugh....be careful they'll ban us from carrying more than one magazine.

those assholes are patently dishonest. if you don't trust honest people to own 30 round magazines you really don't trust them to own 10 round magazines either. its time that scumbags like him start being impeached for such idiocy and anything his bodyguards carry the rest of us should

I own HUNDREDS of normal capacity magazines. so do most serious shooters. one of the instructors at the place where we train has 200 17 round glock magazines. those things can be bought by mail and have no serial numbers. assholes like that blumedick want to make it a felony to merely own one. turds like him are why we need a second amendment
