Shortly after the Boston bomb one of my credit union branches posted a sign saying no sunglasses, no hats, and no backpacks. The problem I have with this is this very small branch sits right at the main entrance and hallway in a cubbyhole of a busy doctors office building, across the street from the main hospital. We are supposed to just lay our backpacks against the far wall in the hallway knowing no one would possibly think about stealing. It's important to note that it is in the center of 3 major hospitals plus a children's hospital and the states finest and largest medical school. Do they think that there won't be many backpacks, hats and sunglasses in this area? Where are we supposed to safely store our belongings why we try to get some of our money? I don't know if they posted this at the other branches. They aren't near as conveniently located as this main branch.
I think we're carrying this safety thing too far.
