Baltimore state's attorney indicted on federal charges

Remember the Freddy Gray "police brutality" case a few years back? And the young female Prosecutor in Baltimore that played the role (poorly) of Civil Rights leader and decided to prosecute those Police officers? (None were found guilty, and the cop that was convicted of a lessor charge was WAIT FOR IT....a black cop. LMAO. -smh-
Now she is in some serious hot water.
>>>(Reuters) Baltimore State's Attorney Marilyn Mosby, the city's top prosecutor, was indicted on Thursday on federal charges of perjury and filing false mortgage applications related to her purchase of two Florida vacation homes.

Mosby, a Democrat elected to her post in 2015, is accused of falsely claiming twice to have suffered a work-related financial hardship from COVID-19 in order to request early withdrawals totaling $90,000 from her city employee retirement account.<<<<

She'll get to do some first hand research in the federal prison system if convicted. She has a $250K per year job. Well "had" might be more accurate, I dont think she's been fired yet its an elected position.

>>>>Mosby is further charged with two counts of making false statements on mortgage applications seeking a total of more than $900,000 in loans to purchase the two Florida properties in question.

In particular, the indictment says, Mosby failed to disclose as required in both applications that she and her husband were delinquent in federal tax payments resulting in $45,000 tax lien filed against them by the Internal Revenue Service in 2020.<<<<

Disappointing, very disappointing. Couldn't walk the talk.
I sure hope the next Prosecutor in Baltimore isnt a CROOK as this one is. (allegedly) But...well....its Baltimore.

Thoughts?

Do not pass go, do not collect two hundred dollars.

I am pretty sure that she will not serve time in prison.

She will be given probation and ordered to repay some money.

I really do envy the folks who can still put up with living in the United States of America. I chose to live in Canada and the political news here is positively bereft of crooked and stupid politicians, "dog in the manger legislators", gerrymandering, voter suppression, seditious conspiracies, police officers killing people at traffic stops, drivers gunning down people on the freeway because the other driver "looked at them funny", stupid arrogant pathetic idiots killing bundles of people because they have issues over the fact that they can't get laid, and all of the other grist for the American media to continually dish up to the American public - doesn't stop me from voting though (although, I suppose that if the Republicans take control of the government again I won't be able to use a "mail ballot" and will have to personally present myself at my home electoral district in order to vote [assuming that I am allowed to vote since I wouldn't have any ID showing that I lived in that electoral district]).

You should still be able to get an absentee ballot.

Yeah, the US has become a great big shithole alright, the shithole of developed nations thats a fact.
If Canada wasnt farther north I'd be right there with ya.
If I were mid 20s instead of mid 50s I'd be looking for another place to live, for sure, the ST00PID here is thick enough to cut with a knife.
Thinking about retiring abroad, not sure how that would affect my free Socialist BidenCare™ plan, I'd hate to lose hat.

You mean those anti-democracy "mail ballots" that the Republicans say no one should have?

I actually believe that the American people DO have the capacity to pull the nation out of the quagmire that the people who control who the American leadership is going to be have created.

I live south of 17.525% of the United States of America, how is that "farther north"?

Well, if you were to retire to BC (which means actually becoming a resident of British Columbia [a person who meets all of the following conditions: must be a citizen of Canada or be lawfully admitted to Canada for permanent residence; must make his or her home in B.C.; and. must be physically present in B.C. at least six months in a calendar year, or a shorter prescribed period]) you probably wouldn't be able to access your free Socialist BidenCare™ plan and you'd have to make do with one that had no personally paid premiums, no caps, no exclusions, and provided access to a healthcare system that didn't even make it into the "Top Ten" rather that access to the world renowned American healthcare system. If you were male, you would have a healthy lifespan that forced you to deal with the dreary weather and almost constant snowfall for 81.15 years rather than the 76.61 years that Americans have to deal with the much better American weather.

It isn't well known, but the cops who killed Grey were ordered to get tough on loiters in that area, by Mosby herself.

I live almost as far north as Canada, it gets cold around here with snow but its not as bad as say Minnesota or Wisconsin.
I live further north than either Minnesota or Wisconsin. We had less than a foot of snow in the past 3.5 months. I'm debating whether or not to cut my lawn next weekend.
