Woodward book: Former intel chief Dan Coats believed "Putin had something on Trump" - Axios

The premise -
Former director of national intelligence Dan Coats could not shake his "deep suspicions" that Russian President Vladimir Putin "had something" on President Trump, seeing "no other explanation" for the president's behavior, according to Bob Woodward's new book "Rage," which was obtained by CNN ahead of its publication next week.

The clear implication is that Coats had reason to believe that Trump was under Putin's control at least to some extent.

The evidence? -
Coats was the president's top intelligence official from March 2017 until August 2019. Woodward reports that Coats and his staff examined the intelligence regarding Trump's ties to Russia "as carefully as possible" and that he "still questions the relationship" between Trump and Putin despite the apparent absence of intelligence proof.

So Coates had his staff investigate Trump/Russia ties for two and a half years, while he was the ****ing DNI, and didn't find any proof of a relationship but he still believed that Trump was compromised.

Now, as to the media bias -

The article implies that a senior Trump official believed that Trump was compromised by Putin. That's nothing but grist for the propaganda mill.

The actual story that SHOULD be written here is that the DNI spend two and a half years investigating the president he was supposed to be serving! The further story should be that after two and a half years of trying to **** over the guy the American people voted for and elected president he STILL didn't come up with anything! That should be the story.

Heck, if this is the kind of stuff that Trump has been dealing with for damned near 4 years then he's 100% correct in talking about "the swamp" and 100% correct in talking about "fake news".

No American should be OK with the conduct Coates exhibited and no American should be OK with a "media" outlet that so brazenly takes sides in political matters.

Yawn, as usual something negative about trump must be fake news. Keep up the good work.

But the Americans who are Trump haters are OK with the conduct of Coates, and the biased leftist media outlets like the above... The anti-Trump peeps don't even try to hide their complicity anymore, friend. They are so deluded that they actually have convinced themselves that Coates and a particular media outlet are doing their patriotic duty for the good of the country.

The sun shines out of Trump's ass.

They cant get over his interview.

Thought had by person at the White House: If you can remember, man, woman, car, camera, TV, you are fit to lead a country and no one has anything to worry about

Another excerpt from the article...

"In a later conversation reported by Woodward, Mattis told Coats, "The president has no moral compass." Coats reportedly responded, “True. To him, a lie is not a lie. It’s just what he thinks. He doesn’t know the difference between the truth and a lie.""

Also,

"
According to The Times, Coats has often found himself at odds with President Donald Trump over Russia, a situation that worsened in recent months.

Coats saw Russia as an adversary to the US, The Times wrote, and pushed for closer cooperation with European countries to counter it, but the White House did not agree.

Several times Coats saw his language on the Kremlin's activities watered down by the White House, according to The Times."

What confounded him was that the white house kept suppressing and downplaying his intelligence findings and warnings about Russia. So, while they might not have formally found anything with information that the Trump administration cared to share, it makes sense that he would still have suspicions.

Look at all the recent provocations by Russia, where Biden notes Trump did not so much as lift a finger -- ignored intelligence briefings on bounties on American soldiers. It seems reasonable to be skeptical about why.
