Perjury is serious business, and now there is documented proof that the 2 top officials in the Justice Department, including Gonzales, committed it.

Even if he were fired or resigns, he still walks free and the shmuck that would replace him would undoubtedly be just another tear up the bill of rights guys.

Wasn't George Bush supposed to restore integrity in the White House? What a joke.

What of any of his campaign promises both 2000 and 2004 has he fulfilled?

It could be all cleared up if these jokers were to testify under oath, but then that might cause them to slip up on their words and lie. Can't have that now can we?

Where does this show it is lacking. He and the his office has every right to fire US Attorneys who are not performing as they see fit or whatever reason they choose. Since when is replacing a US Attorney an issue of inquiry when no evidence has been presented that it had to do with any case in particular.

You know everything you guys do to weaken the executive branch with these phony investigations will apply to the next person/party to sit there. And if you believe the congress should be issuing subpoena's to the Presidents advisors, forcing them to disclose those private conversations, you better stop and thing about that apply to Hillary or Obama with a Republican congress and that new precedent in hand.

US Attorney's are political appointees, they serve at the pleasure of the President, and the President doesn't serve at the pleasure nor does he work for the Congress.

Do you really want to set that precedent? How about Pelosi's advisors or Schmers advisors being called to the WH to sit down and be questioned by Rove and Cheney, under oath, about their private policy discussions? You know a little oversite goes both ways doesn't it? I heard Finestein saying the are CO-EQUAL branches, so a little investigation about why Schumer made this an issue might be in order. Like that idea too?

Integrity, not legality. Firing people from their jobs because they don't agree with your politics is just vindicive.

They are political appointees!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They are there precisely to agree with the policies set forth by the Executive branch for which they work. They serve at the pleasure of the President.

Beyond that being "vindictive" does call for a congressional inquiry with subpoena's being issue or the congress snooping into the private conversation of the President and his cabinet or advisors.
