Why on earth would I say that? Because it would make the republicans actually have to run on some platform, have a purpose, ideas, etc, not simply say "vote for me because I'm not a democrat." That shouldn't be enough to get anyone into office, but unfortunately, the left has done such a bad job that simply disassociating oneself from the party can get someone elected.
I'm pissed because I hear how well republicans are doing in the polls, and how they're supposed to smash the dems in November, but I've yet heard one good idea from them (besides repealing or not funding the Obamacare bill) and so they'll simply get elected based on "not being a democrat" which doesn't benefit our country. In fact, it just prolongs the pendulum swinging wildly from left to right, and our country always seems to do better when it slows down around the middle.
I don't want a republican or democrat owned congress, I want it dead even, or as close to dead even as possible, so both parties have to come up with good ideas. Of course this doesn't work with a corrupt congress, so we need to hit the "reset" button, get a bunch of people in there who really work for the people like they are supposed to, and get this country back to a two-party system that works, not a one party dominated, then the other party dominated, system. It's bound for failure. And continueous failure, in both directions.
