After 10 long years and all that drama we may finally have closure on baby JonBenet Ramsey's murder case. God rest her soul.

(CNN) -- A suspect has been arrested "for the December 26, 1996, murder of JonBenet Ramsey," the district attorney in Boulder, Colorado, said Wednesday.

A law enforcement source identified the suspect as 41-year-old John Mark Carr, a one-time school teacher. He was arrested in Bangkok, Thailand, following "several months of a focused and complex investigation," District Attorney Mary Lacy said.

Two law enforcement sources told CNN that Carr also was under investigation for an unrelated sex crime.

Carr was arrested Wednesday morning and has confessed to certain elements of the crime that are unknown to the general public, CNN affiliate KUSA reported.

An investigator with the District Attorney's office is bringing Carr to Colorado from Thailand.

JonBenet's beaten and strangled body was found in the basement of the family home in Boulder, the day after Christmas in 1996. She was 6...

According to news sources, she was told of that an arrest would happen about a month before she died. I'm sure she died more peacefully knowing this.
 
I don't believe this is the man, looks to me like someone who badly wanted out of a Bangkok jail cell. His ex-wife is claiming that he was with her, and I don't know why she would lie about it, apparently she can't stand the man, and who would, after being arrested for having child porn. This guy has been studying child murders, and I think he just became obsessed with this one, and that is why he knows so much about it.

I really do fear that this is not the end we were all looking for, but perhaps I'm wrong.

i find this story suspicious as well
but hopefully it is the right scumbag
 
I agree. Something is rotten in Denmark. It's still early yet but something here is not adding up. It has yet to get past my "smell test."

I mean, I do hope they caught the bass turd that killed that precious little girl. And this guy does have the crazy look about him. But I'm thinkin' there's more than meets the eye here.

Let's see how this plays out. I hope it's not just an attention grabbing sicko pulling a very bad prank.
 
I don't buy it.......yet......either.

One thing I never could comprehemnd or swallow, though, was how the parents were home with this little girl in their huge house and some 'perv/perp' comes in, molests and beats this little girl to death, then escapes - all unseen, all un-heard.

Mom calls the cops, tells them she has searched the whole house from top to bottom, but when the cops show up, they begin the police search of the house with the mom taking them immediately/1st down to the basement where they easily found the little girl's body. Something about this just never added up.

Supposedly this guy has verbally admitted he did it, but inthe interviews on TV he only says he was 'with her' when she died and that it was an 'accident'. One report says he stated he had climbed in one of the basement windows to get in, but the police report shows the cops found un-disturbed cob webs blocking the window he described.

I hope it is the guy and that he is the one who really did it so they can fry his @$$. Anyone who kills a child should be put to death - New Legislation!

Even Mr. Ramsey has said that, as he and his wife have been 'falsely' accused all these years, he will not automatically assume this guy is the person who killed his daughter. He demands proof!

I think we should all wait for that proof and confirmation!
 
I don't think he did it.......People confess to crimes all the time they did not commit...........He said he had sex with her before he killed her and the toxocology report says she did not have sex.........
 
One thing I noticed. He calls Patsy Ramsey "Patricia" as if they were acquaintances. Says he was in contact with her prior to his death.

She has long been suspected by certain people in the police circles of being involved. Forgive my conspiracy theory tendancy but what if he tries to spin this into her being accomplice to him? Dead people cannot testify. What if he IS guilty but implicates her to lessen his penalty? That would take some serious lie spinning and conspirical (is that even a word?) thought. But you can just see the gears turning in this guys head.

There is much we have yet to find out. The jury is still out, so to speak, on this guys intentions.

But if this guy IS guilty....there are a LOT of people who the Ramsey's one heck of an apology. Geraldo Rivera should be the first standing in that line.
 
His story is unraveling fast!

He has said he drugged her - toxicology reports say she was never drugged.

He has said he raped her - forensics says she was not raped.

He said he picked her up after school on DECEMBER 26! (School is out/NO school)

His wife says she can prove they were in Alabama together when JonBennet was killed.

For all you conspiracy theorists, I heard there is an opinion starting to circulate that Mr. Ramsy is behind this, that he is trying to clear his name and his wife's! Wisdom says that is a stupid move because the heat was pretty much off him, but the reasoning is 1)ego, 2)a gift to his dead wife, 3) just wanting to clear his name. The story I am hearing is that Ramsey has been in cahoots (where is that , BTW? ;) ), that the Professor has been talking to this guy for years, giving him some of the details of the case from Ramsey, and that he is euither brainwashed at this point to believe he did it and/or there is money involved.

...dunno about that, but either way he is a flaming fruit-loop!

I thought about that, as well: a rescue form the Taiwanese justice system/charges/jail and a free ride back to the States followed by a plea of insanity to get off on the existing current and past charges....

As Don King says, "Only in Amereica....!"

I haven't seen it mentioned anywhere that he was under arrest for breaking any Thai laws. Everything I've read states that the Thai police picked him up after being requested to do so by US police.

That's correct, I was under the impression that he was in trouble there as well, turns out that is not the case. Still, I think he was looking for a free trip home, or perhaps he's just nuts, he sure looks creepy enough!:shock:

yep, he's nuts AND creepy whether he actually killed her or not.

One thing I've wondered about... reports state that he has traveled extensively throughout the world for several years. Where does his money come from?

I believe he has continued to take teaching postions, which is the really frightening thing, I sure hope he has not hurt any children.:(

I second that motion! I can't tell if that was just some sarcastic/sick politically-slanted 'humor'/wisecrack or what the purpose really was behind the remark. Political leanings has nothing to do with sick people who hurt/kill children...or even who just claim to.
