IMO, nigeria is one of those "lost" countries that can easily be written off - but for their oil. And their protesters, now kidnappers, are not making the situation any better..
If I were an oil company, I would plan on leaving places such as nigeria and go where the political climate is stable ( in the middle of the ocean, for one) or, better yet, the USA(Colorado oil shale)..
I do not know the reason behind the protest activity; I suspect the nigerian government is shafting their own people, which would not be a surprise.
Probably the Islamics are playing a role in this as well..
niger means N i g e r , why this was censored, I do not know - Censors are not noted for intelligence.
