so far the only person I've seen try to make the constitution irrelevant is Benedict Donald, but a lot of that is simply is gross ignorance of the limits of his power and the inner workings of his government.

Because he doesn't have to. I wouldn't either. Trump gets a least a minimal audit every year. By experts at the IRS. So the only reason for releasing is for harassment. By Journalists or internet posters.

I don't get this ruling. President Trump complied with the law. Now SCOTUS changed the law retroactively. I haven't read the ruling. I'll get around to it soon.

Just because you don't have to doesn't mean you shouldn't. Most presidents do. His opponent did. All things being equal, he should. It would give him a boost in the election by establishing trust among voters.

So I ask again: Why wouldn't he take this easy election boost that his opponent has already taken? Why would you ever vote for a candidate who is too stupid to take advantage of such an easy election boost?

Oh I got his meaning alright, I never said I didn't. It's just that he's making an unfair comparison between the job of being a businessman and being the President of the United States and "leader of the free world". There is just no comparing the two and trying so hard to equate the two is just plain silliness.

Our tax returns and business decisions do not impact national security and the future of our nation. It is hardly an apt comparison.
 

Whether you should or shouldn't is strictly opinion. I voted for him last election. so to me it didn't matter.

The real question is why do you want them? The last election is over. You lost. The election is 3 years over and will not be overturned. That leaves harassment or you want them because you can't have them.

I don't see the election boost. The pundits will find something on page 1226 which is without merit and twist it into something supposedly damaging. Just in time for the 2020's. There's also the matter that if you thought that they would give Trump a boost, you would be against the release. So that's a lie.
 

I don't care one way or the other. But his willingness to go to court and spend your tax dollars on fighting to keep them a secret when other presidents didn't suffer any ill effects from releasing theirs is suspicious, don't you think?

Warren Buffet obsesses over the price of everything. You are mistaken if you believe rich people don't consider prices. Intelligent and responsible economic decisions are how a lot of people get wealthy in the first place.

Pleading the 5th may not imply guilt but it sure as hell doesn't imply innocence. Nobody pleads the 5th if they've done nothing wrong.

This is my issue on the topic. If he had no intentions of releasing them then he shouldn't have kept saying yes yes yes, just wait until <this and this happens>. The fool knew from day one he had no intentions of releasing them but his whole "just wait" routine has been much like everything else he's done. And now today he's screaming from the rooftops how he's such a victim and being picked on.

It's truly insane that the leader of this country has the mentality of a child who was told he can't have dessert until he eats his dinner. I used to think of Kimmy as an overgrown baby and what an embarrassment for a country to have such a mess in charge. And now I'm living the nightmare here in my own country.
