How is your religious liberty not protected. We all have to pay taxes, even though we all may believe that some program or other is morally wrong.

Easy one first, contraceptives will not get outlawed, far too many women on both sides depend on them. Abortion legal or not. Both are wrong as it takes a life. Laws against may or may not cause a drop but we have laws against rape, robbery, murder and a host of other crimes that don't stop. I appreciate the you follow the teaching of your religion, so many don't. Someone who gets pregnant is asked to make the sacrifice of 9 months carrying the child, just as Christ made the sacrifice of his life to save christians from sin.

What authority that Americans are obligated to follow, says that the unborn have a right to life?

A woman who needs an abortion is deciding between sacrificing the unborn and other things like sacrificing her ability to support the rest of her dependents/family, a safe place for them all to live, to stay off of public assistance. She is deciding if she can risk sacrificing her obligations and responsibilities to family, employer, church, community, society, etc. She is the ONLY one who knows her health and the circumstances of her life and which sacrifices need to be made...strangers certainly cannot.
