I am interested in finding out how many people who post here consider themselves part of one of the (currently) two major parties.

And if you do not, and have another party with which you are affiliated, please post what that party is.

Personally, I consider myself to be totally independent of any party, although I may agree with some of the stuff each promotes.

Independent, of course; not good in a way as one cannot participate in he primaries..
There is little difference between the parties - one is "spend and tax" , the other, "tax and spend"..
I could be in the Reform party, , but I disagree with much of their agenda..
How about an "Economics" political party...

Socialist 60% ; Communist 15%; Democrat 10%; Republican 15%........That My Political, I wonder if this make senses?

I subscribe to the Whig Party Platform as adopted by the Convention of 1852 (except for Article Eighth, which has been superceded by the Thirteenth Amendment). The last person elected President from the Whig Party was General Zachary Taylor. (Millard Filmore, who succeeded him in office on his untimely death, was not re-elected.) Had President Taylor lived, America might not have had to fight a civil war; for the institution of slavery would have, of economic necessity, died out in the wake of the industrial age. Even so, those outdated issues are now having a resurgence in the form of immigrant labor to work the agrarian fields of the nation’s farm belt. It is not something that I feel comfortable with.

Where's the "Australian" option?

I am a registered Democrat, and I've taken part in party activities.

I'm not comfortable with the DNC, but the Democratic Party of Wyoming is just about perfect.

I do not vote, and the last party I gave up on was the Libertarian Party.

Now that is most interesting !.
Picking the crop for the fat and lazy is no Sunday "walk in the park"..These poor people really earn their low wages, they are not that much removed from being slaves,IMO.....
I do not relish their position.

Back in the age of slavery, there were some real men (true American heroes)who were against this barbaric practice. I do not think Abraham Lincoln was one of them(at least not publicly), but he was a symphatizer,AFAIK...
Had he not been elected; slavery could have continued into the 20th century..
The Russian serf was little more than a "slave" - much like the Chinaman of today, working so hard for so little(the way I see it); but I am sure this is slowly changing..

I am conservative on most issues but cannot subscribe fully to any political party. In Ohio I am registered with no party affiliation.

I just vote for the most popular Thrid party candidate.

Here's a good list of all/most parties.

I like The Natural Law Party and the Taxpayers party.
They sound good (on paper anyway)

Oregon, non affiliated. Never been, most likely never will.

Almost every party has something to find appealing. Save parties such as the Nazi Party. But for the most part there's much more to dislike then like about them as a whole.

Sup oregon buddy ^^

Liberal-tron, Activate! I'd like to think of my ideals as being progressive, but I can't really side with the progressive party. So instead, I fight in the name of personal freedoms.
There was a speech today in town called "Why the left hates America" I wanted to go. I'd like to know why I hate America. :(

I'm a moderate democratic socialist in the sense that I believe in free well funded healthcare, SS, college, job placement, food, water and shelter as a constitutional amendment, and etc..

Independant of all parties. Much less limit myself within the confines of democratic/republican.

If I recall, Lincoln merely wanted its spread halted. Not abolishment(though that happened anyway).
Had he not been elected; slavery could have continued into the 20th century..
Doubtful. Every society comes and goes, such chattel slavery that existed then wouldn't have lasted, primarily from the rise of modern industry no longer required slaves, which were used more in agricultural economies.

GREEN PARTY But I am registered as a Democrat and tend to vote that way as well. Just not that many Greens in the Midwest.

Definetly something else... I think I look at issues individualy. I fall conservative on some liberal on others and still others I may stay in the grey. really depends on the issue. Hel I think there should be a test to determine present affiliation:2razz:
