Are you a Christian who approves of Trump and his treatment of asylum seekers?

There is this part of the bible where The Lord speaks,
and quite clearly, I might add, which you apparently have overlooked:

Don't forget the part about not punishing children because of their parents.

Wait, so now leftists want religion in politics?

Because treating people humanely who come here should have absolutely nothing to do with politics, and everything to do with being a decent person.

No, more like wondering why adherents to a specific religion pick and choose which tenets of said religion to follow and ignore the less pleasant ones. Wondering why y'all are so proud of your hypocrisy is all? Why are you so proud to fail at your own supposed beliefs?

Interested response. You can respond as a Christian or a partisan but not as both. It seems clear which takes priority.

That was then, this is now. Back in those days we needed immagrants, these days we have too many.

I've actually seen this argument made by conservatives. They use and follow their Bible only when it happens to fall in line with their politics...

Deuteronemy also says,

"43 "Foreigners who live in your land will gain more and more power, while you gradually lose yours. 44 They will have money to lend you, but you will have none to lend them. In the end they will be your rulers. 45 "All these disasters will come on you, and they will be with you until you are destroyed, because you did not obey the Lord your God and keep all the laws that he gave you. 46 They will be the evidence of God's judgment on you and your descendants forever. 47 The Lord blessed you in every way, but you would not serve him with glad and joyful hearts. 48 So then, you will serve the enemies that the Lord is going to send against you. You will be hungry, thirsty, and naked - in need of everything. The Lord will oppress you harshly until you are destroyed. 49 The Lord will bring against you a nation from the ends of the earth, a nation whose language you do not know. They will swoop down on you like an eagle. 50 They will be ruthless and show no mercy to anyone, young or old. 51 They will eat your livestock and your crops, and you will starve to death. They will not leave you any grain, wine, olive oil, cattle, or sheep; and you will die. 52 They will attack every town in the land that the Lord your God is giving you, and the high, fortified walls in which you trust will fall. 53 "When your enemies are besieging your towns, you will become so desperate for food that you will even eat the children that the Lord your God has given you."

Parents who choose to drag them thousands of miles and use them as human shields. Surely the bible has something to say about that.

And the Christian haters never fail to use that bible they so eschew to bludgeon with their false sense of superiority. Just bait for playing the "gotcha" game.

Asylum seekers aren't being mistreated. What's your point?

Children were separated from the parents and in many instances the government is unable to track the kids to their parents and apparently their children are lost forever in the system.

It said those kids should die in custody or be deported decades later to a place where they know no one and nothing?

The Bible gives much wise instruction to live by. One does not have to be religious nor believe in God to recognize such. Just as religious, church-going Christians who know of these instruction choose not to live by them. Just like Evangelist turn a blind eye to Trump's many irreverent statements and beliefs antithetical to Christ teachings and by great majority support his presidency and actions ignorant of those teachings.

A question is not an answer to a question

However, it can be a diversionary whattaboutism or general deflection, as it was here. He is attempting to avoid the question while attacking the questioner, which even if it were a valid approach would have absolutely nothing to do with the objective validity of the question.

There is no requirement that someone want "religion in politics" for them to have standing to ask people whether they are Christians who support Trump's treatment of asylum seekers, despite the allegedly "holy book" they claim to follow indicating they should not.

Someone who does not enjoy doing math is still correct to say that 2+2=4, but it seems you would attack them for their stance on math as if by doing so, you have cast down on the fact that the answer is "4" regardless of who states the equation.

I doubt it was intentional cruelty. Some of those kids were seperated from human traffickers. Some were seperated from their parents, because their parents were going to jail. We don't want to send kids to adult jailhouses. Do we?

The issue at the border isn't with those who reside among us but with those who are trying to break our laws by sneaking in. It is amusing, as well, to see liberals making Bible references in their attempts to justify the breaking of our laws by foreigners.

It was policy to do so, vice president Pence announcement on National Television.

This was a first because never in our history have we treated misdemeanor offenders this way nor have we treated asylum-seekers this way and a number of them have been treated that way

It wasn't a first. It's been going since before President Trump was elected.

If a United States citizen goes to jail, they're seperated from their children. Children of single parents go into the system.

I think it’s more “You’re not a real (fill in the blank) if you don’t agree with me). Both sides do it.
