A new USA TODAY/Bipartisan Policy Center poll finds that Americans by more than 2-1 say the best way to make positive changes in society is through volunteer organizations and charities, not by being active in government. Those younger than 30 are particularly put off by politics. They are significantly less likely than their parents to say participating in politics is an important value in their lives.Do you agree ??????

Yes most people in my age group couldn't give a crap about politics, however there is a growing number of us who do and particularly on this forum: Young Debaters - Debate Politics Forums

The best change to society we can make is to keep our country an informed democracy.

Both are necessary in a well functioning republic.

I find that a lot of younger people have lost faith in politicians therefore in our political process. In addition there is such an enormous divide and so much animosity between the parties that it seems like just a lot of petty bickering with no one making an effort to offer real solutions. Also, there is an overwhelming amount of information available because of the internet and it is difficult to find truly objective non-partisan sources for information.

Has there ever been a generation of young people that had faith in government? To them, government is comparable to parents...
