When illegal aliens choose to cross the border they are housed in ICE detention centers at the border. Would you call these centers "concentration camps"?
When they start gassing and cremating them yes.But until then they are like country clubs.
Are they concentration camps? No
These centers are to house and detain until a solution can be found. Those who come to the border know the risks. They can leave to the south.
When they start gassing and cremating them yes.But until then they are like country clubs.
A concentration camp is a facility to keep large groups of people in detention who haven't been charged and convicted of a crime.
I'll bet the Jews getting off the train at Auschwitz couldn't wait to get in line for a nice hot shower and hot meal.

Educate yourself. Begin by researching concentration camps.

These latest comments of AOC of her comparing detention centers on the border of people who illegally entered to concentration camps is just appalling. She just keeps on showing her ignorance of history. It was a slap in the face of every Jew living today who lost their family members and those that survived that were hauled in cattle cars to destinations where they were first tortured and lived through seeing family members being killed. And it wasn't just Jews that ended up in these camps but everyone who was caught hiding them.
I am compelled to send AOC a copy of Corrie ten Boom's "The Hiding Places". Her ignorance is just shocking.
Wow. That was the dumbest **** I've seen all day, and I've seen a few posts from James.
concentration camp
n
(Government, Politics & Diplomacy) a guarded prison camp in which nonmilitary prisoners are held, esp one of those in Nazi Germany in which millions were exterminated
Then can we stop comparing Trump to Hitler than?
How is "concentration camp" defined? When illegal aliens choose to cross the border they are housed in ICE detention centers at the border. Would you call these centers "concentration camps"?
Well how do you define a concentration camp? Normally it's a place where political or ethnic minority prisoners are "concentrated", usually with inadequate facilities. This definitely applies to the US border camps.
You seem to be having difficulty with the definition of "concentration camps."
You seem to be having difficulty with how concentration camps were defined in WWII and all the writings defining the killing of 6 million Jews and those who were caught hiding them and their destinations were defined as concentration camps. The killing of Jews and those who helped to hide them that were sent to said camps facing torture and death but it was also any person in any country that fought the Nazis were rounded up and sent to concentration camps as well. Members of my family in Yugoslavia at the time that were fighting the Nazis and were captured met hideous deaths. Their wives, children and elderly grandparents from the village they were from were ordered into the church. It was boarded up and set on fire by the Nazis killing all of them.
So I don't know what definition you are clinging to but all the writings from WWII where Nazis were gassing, torturing and killing them in mass were defined as concentration camps.
I can't believe in the 21st century that our citizens are so ignorant in history.
What image comes to your mind when you hear "concentration camp"? I think of the stacks of human bodies and the fingernail scratches on the walls of the gas chambers. Yes, I know it can have a less than horrific definition, but Hitler changed that.
"Detention center" is what it is. It isn't a "concentration camp" as we all know it today.
