Maybe they should have a gerrymandering war. Its the only way to teach those magats a lesson.The GOP in Texas, at the request of the president, are going to try and gerrymander 5 more GOP seats in an attempt to hold on to control of the House in the next election. Now both the Dems in New York and in California are suggesting that they will do the same to counter the move by the GOP. Will these moves by both parties, but set off by the GOP, cause a gerrymandering war throughout the nation? Will each state controlled by one party and with both dem and GOP House members now try to gerrymander extra seats for their party and is this what our politics come down to?

Nothing new here. We see this redistricting every election cycle somewhere.
Amazing people in states like Wisconsin who vote 450,000 in just one district don’t pounce all over and trash your dozens of poorly performing CDs, including Valadao.I am 100% A-OK with Democratic states like California, New York, Illinois, Massachusetts, Washington, Oregon all going forward with Gerrymandering if it is going to be used so nakedly by the Republican-run states, there is no reason whatsoever to tie our hands. It is like refusing to use machine guns or drones in warfare because they are "dishonorable". No, the time to consider magnanimity and abstemiousness is after victory, not before. Our states have higher populations. We have higher GDPs. I want California Gerrymandered. I hate being represented by scumbag fascist catamites who have done everything in their power to hurt their constituents like Vince Fong and David Valadao. Give me a Democrat to vote for who has a chance of winning, please.
This isn’t the first time Texas Republicans have done this, without being ordered to.The GOP has long had a gerrymandering problem, but if they are going to be this blatant about it, then yes the Dems should fight back for once.
All of this and even if the Texas Dems stop it there, Dems across the country should move ahead regardless.I am 100% A-OK with Democratic states like California, New York, Illinois, Massachusetts, Washington, Oregon, Michigan, Minnesota all going forward with Gerrymandering if it is going to be used so nakedly by the Republican-run states, there is no reason whatsoever to tie our hands. This seems, kinda, you know, important.

People (online, if anyone is really a person online) keep saying we need a lefty Trump. JB might just fit the bill. Just, you know, a real billionaire.You know, it's really nice to see a capitalist using their capital for the side of good for once, and not just for a payout, like Elon Musk and Starlink.
Very possible, even probable.The GOP in Texas, at the request of the president, are going to try and gerrymander 5 more GOP seats in an attempt to hold on to control of the House in the next election. That "gerrymandering war" has been going on for years. True. And Mad King Donald just poured gasoline on that fire.That "gerrymandering war" has been going on for years. Both sides are combatants.

NO, California and Newscum are. What Texas is doing is within their state laws. Newscum is threatening to bypass a committee established by California law to prevent what he is trying to do. What will happen is that Red States will follow suit. With many states like Illinois having already gerrymandered most Republicans' representation out of existence, I think that Red States can move the needle in favor of them when this all breaks loose.The GOP in Texas, at the request of the president, are going to try and gerrymander 5 more GOP seats in an attempt to hold on to control of the House in the next election. What was bullshit about what I posted? Texas is gaining population like crazy from people fleeing liberal states. They want to make changes and are following Texas law. What is BULLSHIT IS NEWSCUM jumping into a matter that is not any of his business. BTW, the picking voters comment is EXACTLY WHAT ILLINOIS HAS DONE, ALONG WITH SEVERAL OTHER BLUE STATES.Bullshit.
Here are the requirements;
The federal constitution calls for reapportionment of congressional seats according to population from a decennial census (Section 2, Article I). Reapportionment is the allocation of a set number of districts among established units of government. The 435 congressional seats are reapportioned among the 50 states after each decennial census according to the method of equal proportions. The boundaries of the individual congressional districts within each state are then redrawn by the state legislature in accordance with state and federal law.
Redistricting is the revision or replacement of existing electoral districts, resulting in new districts with different geographical boundaries.The basic purpose of decennial redistricting is to equalize population among electoral districts after publication of the United States decennial census indicates population has increased or decreased over the last decade.
The Texas Constitution requires the legislature to redistrict Texas house and senate seats during its first regular session following publication of each United States decennial census (Section 28, Article III). After each census, State Board of Education seats also must be redistricted to bring them into compliance with the one‐person, one‐vote requirement.

What they are doing at Mad King Donald's insistence bears no resemblance to what is stated here.
It doe snot in any way represent equal proportions, and Texas has already gone through a redistricting post-census.
They are literally picking voters.
It is corruption.
Let's not pretend otherwise.
