By now it is no surprise that hillary clinton is destined to become the democratic nominee. But is the democratic party really democratic? Hillary clinton has had a history of many scandals, not just the emails and benghazi incident. Yet time and time again, she was defended by the democratic establishment. She claims to be the president who stands for feminism yet she defended her husband in the lewinsky scandal and even tried to defend someone who raped a 12 year old girl back in 1975. Does that sound like a feminist to you? Here's a list of scandals that would get any normal politician in jail: Here they are: Hillary’s 22 biggest scandals ever unless the establishment sweeps it under the rug. Clinton is dominating bernie sanders in the presidential race. Hillary clinton currently has 2,238 delegates while bernie sanders has 1,454 delegates

2016 National Democratic Primary - Polls - HuffPost Pollster

tell me, does this sound democratic to you? To make matters worse, until halfway through the primaries, hillary clinton was the only candidate running for nomination. That's right, martin o'malley, jim webb, and even bernie sanders were all sellouts. Wait bernie sanders? But he's anti establishment. Well, he is now but when he first joined the race, he rarely ever went after hilary clinton. Instead he pushed for socialist ideals, egalitarian economics, basically stuff the democrats already pushed for. The establishment recruited bernie sanders to win millennial support and turn the next generation into a liberal one. He even defended hillary clinton over the email scandal in the 1st democratic debate. He was not against the establishment when he started running

And I didn't even start on the superdelegate system which is the party's method of picking a candidate

do you think the democratic party is corrupt?

A large majority of registered Democrats voted for Clinton in the Democratic Party primaries. I don't see the conspiracy.

the democratic establishment is shielding hillary clinton from controversy and sweeping it under the rug

Clinton is getting more votes.

There is no scandal or surprise. The media is owned by the same people that own both parties. Hillary is the perfect puppet and a media sensation if she becomes the first woman to become president. A lot of people will vote for the popular choice and the media sensation. Just look at the reality shows and you can see where their head and values are. She is clearly the favorite among the special interest as Sanders will not be bribed. She is clearly the party favorite because they also bought and paid for her along with the billionaires that wish to keep the country equally divided. The media will make a whole lot more money if we have a woman president which will make them and their billionaire owners even richer. Who is her only problem? Small business owners struggling to compete against the corporate giants that support her and the 2 parties.

Is the Pope catholic?

I would say that in this case, "rigged" is more like "manipulated to deliver false results."

And yes Virginia, the Pope IS catholic. :)

Are you sure? Or is it the "media" is manipulating the public to believe he is?

The issue however in this entire thing is how the Superdelegate system works, and why.

The Superdelegate system was created for the express purpose of eliminating the risk of a repeat of the 1968 election. This is where a candidate (Hubery Humphery) that had noe won (or even entered) a single Primary ended up walking away with the party nomination. So changes were put into place with the idea that it would give significant votes to the party itself, and not only upon who was able to "game" the system the best.

And there is a major reason why those Superdelegates are going for Hillary Clinton. And that is simply because Bernie Sanders is not a Democrat. No more then Donald Trump is a Republican. Under Democrat policies, the Superdelegates can vote for anybody they want. And while technically their "votes" are not really counted yet (as they are not actual votes until the Convention itself), the vast majority of those Superdelegates are outspoken in their support of Mrs. Clinton. And these Superdelegates are composed of Party leaders, and all Democratic Governors, and members of Congress. So a state like California will have many more Superdelegates then say Idaho.

Now the Republican Party has a similar system, but it is much less open for change. There they are assigned at 3 per state (state chairperson and 2 regional representatives), and are mandated to vote the way their respective state went in their respective primary or caucus. However, it would not surprise me that after this election cycle, the Republicans might very well have their own version of the McGovern–Fraser Commission.

Do I think the Party is corrupt? No, they simply had an election like 1968 which showed that events and gaming the system could actually win somebody the nomination that was not all that popular with the Party as an organization. So having a large number (varies from 20-30%) of delegates tied to the party and not the voting public as a whole can help bring some stability to the process. And consider this in another way with a hypothetical.

Imagine if in the next 3 months Mrs. Clinton is indicted, and is forced to drop out. That is actually not all that much unlike the 1968 campaign, where the assassination of the #2 (and rapidly rising) candidate (Robert Kennedy) and withdrawl of the Incumbent President (Lyndon Johnson) threw much of the balloting into chaos. Under rules at that time the delegates became "free" and most ralied around the candidate that supported a continuation of the current policies, instead of the one that represented change.

Yes they have been for many decades. We the people mean nothing to them, just their quest to keep themselves in power.

Wrong forum.

Mr Sanders has won five state contests in a row and seven of the last eight. If he were an American football team he'd be poised for the playoffs. If he were prize fighter, he'd be tuning up for a title bout.

According to current tabulations Hillary Clinton has received 9,412,426 votes during the primary season so far. Bernie Sanders has received 7,034,997. That 2.4m vote lead has been relentlessly touted by the former secretary of state and her supporters to counter claims from Sanders' faithful that their man is more popular than the delegate tallies indicate.
Some states that hold caucuses - like Iowa and Washington - aren't included in that number, however, because they don't report vote totals.

1. Yes...much like in the Republican Party, the Democratic Elites have played their game plan that is designed to guarantee Hillary as the nominee.

2. Unlike the Republican Party, the Democrats don't have a candidate in Sanders that is capable of disrupting the game plan.

3. The only thing that'll stop Hillary from being the nominee is our justice system.

4. Even if our justice system derails the Democratic game plan, Sanders will never be the nominee. They have a backup waiting in the wings: Biden.

That would be the best way to lose the most winnable election ever. Bernie supporters would go to Trump in droves, out of spite, SCOTUS be damned. Unless they were deliberately trying to tell Bernie supporters to **** off, I can't see them pulling this.

Would someone explain the difference between a delegate and a super delegate would you and how one delegate has more votes than another delegate

Superdelegates aren't committed and will switch to the candidate that has more pledged delegates at the Convention.
