Once upon a time, progressive Democrats were considered too extreme. In comparison now, they are now the centrists/moderate in the party. The new progressives in the Democrats are Democratic Socialists, the Bernie Sanders/AOC crowd mixed in with ANTIFA, Occupy Wall Street and violent protesters.
It struck me during Howard Schultz's interview when he was talking about health care:
Howard Schultz is not a Republican. He is not a Trump supporter. He grew up poor in the projects. He has credibility in talking about the daily struggle of the common man yet he also has credibility talking about the economy. A lot of the socialist Democrats have never ran a business or balanced a checkbook. They have never hired/paid employees, manage revenue, profits, etc....
Some on this forum claim business experience is irrelevant and only government experience matters.... Does that statement make ANY sense?
So Democrats are comfortable with people that have borrowed and lived on debt for their entire lives to lower entitlement spendings?
The Democrat Socialists do realize this country has a budget? I do not blame Schultz for considering running for president. A vote for some of the far-left Democrat candidates is the equivalent to giving a teenager a credit card and allowing them spend as much as they want with no timetable to pay the bill.
Newsflash: Entitlement spendings make up 70% of all federal spending. At this rate, it will eventually be 80%. Where's the money for everything else in this country?
So what is the solution from Democrat Socialists? Single-payer health care which requires to increase federal spending by over 50%.
So Howard Schultz is 100% right. The idea of free health care is false hope. It is a bigger lie than any lie Trump has said, and that's a fact.
The Democrat Socialists want to:
Increase entitlement spendings
Free health care for all
Free education for all
And balance the budget at the same time.
Ya, that's not going to happen.
It struck me during Howard Schultz's interview when he was talking about health care:
He declared his support for open immigration, taxes, climate change, and universal health care--even as he chided the major parties over the polarized political climate and fiscally irresponsibility.
Yet on the idea of free health care, he blasted Democrats for offering a "false" promise that was the equivalent of the border wall proffered by the president, calling it something "the country cannot afford."
