That's not my point, at all. Taxes are not about individuality IMHO, they're about equally sharing the responsibilty, something that Bush and his Mafia do not believe in, which is why this thread is scary. You seem to be swayed by lower taxes in one segment and that is making you feel OK with the current tax system, one that disporportionately favors the wealthy at the expense of the middle class and poor. In other words Bush seems to be buying your approval for his tax methods, methods that have led to massive debt, entitlement program reductions, incredible government waste in earmark programs etc.
Big business is doing great because of the Bush's favoritism, yet individual savings by citizens is it's lowest level since 1933 which was the height of the Great Depression. Of course Bush has his favorites, i.e. oil companies, and he has big indistries he hates because they're unionized, i.e. Automobile and Airlines. All you have to do is look at Bush's personal business history to see which companies are thriving due to his tax breaks, and who is suffering because of them.
Do I like paying 44% of my income to taxes? Hell no! But I do like that my kids have excellent public schools to attend, that NYC schools were open the day after our largest snow storm ever and that due to greater investment of tax dollars by NY State citizens in education that our overall education system is improving every year...versus what goes on in Red states like Mississippi where the average student ranks near the bottom of students anywhere in the First World, or in Kansas where the local government ability to educate its citizens is such a failure that 2 out of 3 people do not believe in Evolution and think that God is Science!
Don't you love when a Creationist Zealot says that Evolution is a made up theory by Noah's Ark is fact? Or that Evolution is BS but the Bible is 100% fact? This is what happens when we undereducate the masses, and what happens when tax cuts prevent our society from keeping up with the rest of the educated world, where other countries tax their citizens a far greater amount than in America and where the average citizen is much, much better educated thatn the average American!
