What About My Car? Details of the VW Settlement for Owners - Bloomberg
WOW. So if VW does not offer enough just keep the car as is and drive it into the ground since you cant sell it. I bet if too many people do it there will be a law created just for them, to force the issue.
We shall see.
I don't think tyou can't sell it. if your VW is breaking no state laws and you sign your title over to someone else and your state issues THEM a title and plates it's still legal
remember emissions laws only apply to the commercial sale of on-road vehicles. many off road use vehicles / equipment don't have to meet any form of emissions. but usually that's enforced by states not issuing license plates to those types of vehicles. but if your state issues tabs and plates it's legal to put on a public road, at least it certainly is in that state, and virtually every state exempts vehicles plated in other states and owned by persons and entities residing in that state from their own laws.
Many vehicles sold in Canada do not meet US emissions standards, like the Puegot and Alfa-Romeo and the SMART forfour, etc but the EPA isn't waiting with tow truck in Blaine to take away canadian cars .
