She was picked because she was in a category of candidates who had been excluded previously & the bench was very strong. She was picked because other far more qualified jurists were excluded for racial and gender reasons??? Well if there were no limitations as to gender and race in place the last previous Supreme Court nominee. Then how in the world did we end up with Amy Coney Barrett? I mean really if Trump said he had come out and said he intended to pick a white woman to the court. You mean tell me that Ms Barrett was the most qualified for the position out of all the white women jurists in the nation? I hardly think so. Jackson's jurist credentials easily exceeds those of Barrett. Jackson even has the support of two prominent conservative legal/pundits/lawyers and the National Fraternal Order of the Police. Maybe you should explore the reasons why you automatically assumed that no black woman jurist could possibly be more qualified than a white woman, or whatever color, race or gender of jurist you want to name.
Jackie Robinson was chosen to break the color barrier, because he was Black & qualified. One of his qualifications was an even temperament, to withstand the onslaught of racism coming his way.
