AP factcheck: Trump did call McCain a loser

Good points. Can you speak to the fact that these sources waited until now to come forth with the accusations?

I can. It's a political war out there. Look at all the lies Trump and his allies are putting out there along with their Russian allies.

There is an election in 2 months. What better time to tell yet some more repulsive information about Trump.

I believe it all. There is no reason not to considering his long history of bullying and disparaging everyone. In Trumps mind, if you didn't make any money doing it, you're a sucker.

That's an interesting meme, though it hinges on two things that the left has repeatedly failed at achieving

One being that they never proved Trump to be indebted to Putin.
And two, actually being funny.

Simple. Make Trump turn over his financials and his taxes. Then we can say yea or no to his indebtedness to Putin.

That's a slippery slope of logic, just because its possibly in character for someone to do something, it doesn't mean they did.

We have learned over the years, that if Trump said it in a tweet or otherwise, it's generally the exact opposite of what he said. So he is angry and pushing back means only that it's true.

AP FACT CHECK: Trump on McCain; Biden'''s stretch on virus

This is from the article above. By all means Trumpsters, defend him here.

On Thursday, Trump tweeted that McCain did nothing for the vets. The AP points out that McCain and two other Senators wrote the VA Choice bill, and Obama signed it into law. The law allowed veterans to get private care through public expenses.

The AP quoted Trump saying this: "Also, I never called John a loser and swear on whatever, or whoever, I was asked to swear on, that I never called our great fallen soldiers anything other than HEROES".

Except for the fact he did. At an Iowa forum he said this about McCain: "He lost, so I never liked him as much after that, ‘cause I don’t like losers" and "He’s not a war hero. He’s a war hero because he was captured. I like people that weren’t captured". That's straight from Trump's own words. At top of that, he's retweeted a post calling McCain a loser.

Now we're suppose to believe Trump didn't call troops losers, when he has in fact denigrated McCain's service and ignored all the positives he did for the vets. So when Trump said he never called McCain a loser, he is either lying or 'forgot' what he said in the past.

Do you Trump supporters really believe McCain wasn't a war hero and was a loser?

Fact Check: McCain was a loser. He lost to Obama

We have learned over the years, that if Trump said it in a tweet or otherwise, it's generally the exact opposite of what he said. So he is angry and pushing back means only that it's true.

Really? And based upon 'what you have learned over the years,' how would he react if it were false?

Simple. Make Trump turn over his financials and his taxes. Then we can say yea or no to his indebtedness to Putin.

Then we can ask the same of every politician and dole out accusations of connections to all kinds of unsavory figures.

Just letting you know however. The last time they got their hands on Trump's taxes, all it proved was that he paid back more in percentage than both Bernie and Obama.

This is both, an old and extremely tired topic.

If people can't find something else that's even partially legitimate to be mad at the man about. Then this doesn't bode well for them going into November.

Trump has said and done so many terrible things during his candidacy and presidency that some of them were inevitably not given the attention they deserved or were swept under the carpet at the time. It’s therefore prudent to remind ourselves of some of them while the man is seeking re-election. Personally I look forward to re-visiting incidents like when Trump used campaign finance funds to pay off the porn star he had an affair with. Just to remind America exactly who this guy is.

I was raised to let that type of stuff bounce off. He could try running the country instead of tweeting a hundred times about it. You have noticed I hope that Trump always seems to make things worse than they are. He's great at playing the VICTIM.

I think that even you can agree that we all knew things were going to get real nasty in the last months leading up to the election. Well, welcome to nasty-land.

And the fact that you're just going to misrepresent it like that, only shows a small sliver of how desperate such people are. To keep retreading roads that have availed them nothing.

I can do just the same and look back at all of the overt racism on the democrats and their ability to let any discretion slide, so long as it lets them attack Trump.

I'd rather talk about subjects that are in the here and not. And not about ones that the left have cried over, till they were blue in the face.

Yes, real nasty. Fires and deaths being allowed under the watchful eye of the democrats and here you are. Stuck crying about something that's already failed you once before. As a means to attack Trump.

There seems to be little point in discussing any of Trump’s indiscretions with his supporters. Every scandal goes the same way. That it’s not true or it might have happened but it’s not illegal. Or Obama and Clinton did much worse. From the day he lied about his inauguration crowd size to when he ignored a pandemic that killed 180k Americans, the president’s supporters have dismissed any criticism of him as a “nothing burger” to use that elegant phrase. Now that the man wants another term, it’s time to remember quite what a disaster his presidency has been. Not to convince those who are all-in on Trump but those who might have impulsively voted for him last time or who stayed away from the polls in 2016. Or who have turned 18 since then. The scandals came so thick and fast, now is the time to reflect on exactly who this guy is.

And who is making it nasty? You guys. I could have told you that. This story is gossip. Its a smear. Until these 'sources' step forward, there is no reason to accept this story as anything more than a pre-election hit piece.

People know who Trump is and they are going to vote for him over Biden anyway. Why? Because you libs had 4 years to come up with a candidate to take on Trump and you picked Biden. You blew it. Again.

So no logic, reason by hate. Seems like a sad way to think.

McCain was a arrogant and cocky pilot, but then again, many of them are. He went on to become a hero for being unselfish.

Trump's comments about McCain were disgusting.

With so many talented people out there, and they come up with O'biden?

Well we’ll see, won’t we Fletch? Personally I can’t believe that they are still people undecided in the upcoming election but the polls say otherwise. They also say Biden is leading Trump. It could be there are enough people who intend on voting for Trump but aren’t comfortable telling a pollster that. Are those numbers enough for another narrow electoral college win?

10 years ago if a ANY politician said of the ONE disgusting comment Trump has said about Vets and/or military personal his/her career would be over.. Conservatives and Republicans honored and worshiped the military, both past and present. Now they worship Trump.

It's unbelievable Trump can call heroes suckers and call McCain a loser and get away with it. The fact that Trumpsters hate their fellow Americans(Dems and Liberals) so much that they allow Trump to get away with such disgusting comments about fallen heroes is mind blowing. Trump and his base are traitors...

And how any Vet can even support Trump, or the Republican party who has enabled Trump is awful and sickening that they would turn their back on their fellow Vets.

Biden seems to have a national lead in the polls but it is state polls that matter. I saw one that showed Trump up 2 in Michigan. If Trump wins Michigan, he will win the whole Rust Belt and the presidency. Trump has tapped into the lower middle class, blue collar and even the union vote that for decades belonged to the democrats. Thats how he won in 2016. The hope was that Biden would get some of them back. He wont.

Actually it was one of your own who started the whole "nothing burger" thing. So thank you for letting yourself get caught in a rather obvious lie. You also have no clout in even saying that discussion has little point, because you can't and most likely lack the full breath of the integrity needed to actually discuss simple topics. Seeing as you already had to throw up another misrepresentation about the inauguration, as Trump is prone to boasting. So your shtick is still just little more than a waste of breath when it comes to actual debate. You also said that he "ignored" the pandemic. Yet you seem to forget, almost conveniently so. That it was beign addressed by his administration, even while the rest of you were still stroking one another over fallacious impeachment trial.

So if you want to continue on this pathetic course of running through gauntlets that you've failed already, or have been caught lying about time and time again. Then I really don't care. It's your own little pity party and if you want to sit there and cry in the corner like the rest of the anti-trump camp. Then I'm completely fine with letting you do that. Barely any of you have anything constructive to add to the conversation and fewer still have the ability to correctly put it to words. Without calling someone a cultist, or a Nazi, or even throwing out a racial slur.

So when it comes to Trump's behavior, you should learn that those who live in glass houses. Should not throw stones... or at the very least, not masturbate in the daytime.

Biden apparently still thinks that the corona virus was for "a hundred year" or some crap like that.

Whoever the hell they pay to hand sign for his speeches, better be paid well.

Like I said we’ll see. It’ll definitely be close one way or the other. The turnout in 2018 could indicate that Biden will win the popular and Trump the electoral college.

The woman was very FOOLISH for saying that because it obviously makes a HUGE difference to Vietnam War veterans who know Donald Trump called one of their comrades a "loser" for sacrificing himself.
That woman was Hillary Clinton.

What lie? The phrase has been around since the 1950s. It’s current popularity is due to its constant use by Trump supporters. And the have gall to lecture me on integrity.

Trump lied about his the size of his inauguration crowd. Not the biggest deal in the world but an insight into his thinking. I used it as an example because it was how he started he presidency. We can talk all day about the Covid response but the fact remains Trump downplayed the seriousness of the virus to a negligent degree. I wonder why you think you have the authority to judge someone else’s “clout” when your contribution to the discussion of various Trump scandal amounted to nothing more than simple denial. Stamping your foot because someone doesn’t agree with you is quite a childish debating style.

So if you want to continue on this pathetic course of running through gauntlets that you've failed already, or have been caught lying about time and time again. Then I really don't care. But you do care. You’ll over the thread crying about how this is old news and why are we even discussing it. I haven’t called you any names despite your quite aggressive manner and emotional language.

So when it comes to Trump's behavior, you should learn that those who live in glass houses. Should not throw stones... or at the very least, not masturbate in the daytime.

Is this your contribution to the discussion, full of integrity and clout? Maybe come back when you calmed down and can calmly discuss matters.
